This is indeed a speed limit. Having grown up in Wisconsin snowmobiling since I was 2 years old, I do not know why the speed limit is only at night. It makes more sense during the day. During the day you can not see snowmobiles coming toward you as well. At night you can see them because of their headlights. It’s far more dangerous at night. Drinking and driving of snowmobiles is a huge problem and the deaths each year spawned the limit I’m sure. Regardless, It’s goofy and nobody follows the law.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.

Yes it is, most trails dont have speed limits during the day, unless you are within a hundred feet of a house or business.
