No saddle? A New Yorker on a horse in Minnesota…only in America! Have fun!

  2. Tom, Stillwater MN says:

Hey there cowboy! Just wanted to say I’ve followed your blog from the start and I can’t go a day without checking it out! It really moves me to see how your journey has captured the hearts of so many people. Have a great time in our wonderful state!

  3. Dave says:

    Hummmmm…. Do I see another possibility for trans-continental travel? I’m just saying……..

  4. Doris says:

    You look like a natural.

  5. Dad says:

Did the horse ever move? Or was he just resting from trying to thow you off?
    How are the saddle sores???

  6. Candace W says:

Come on now … we all know hobo’s don’t ride horses! You keep up this sort of behavior and the powers that be will revoke your hobo privileges!!

  7. Ashley says:

Not fair, Green. I’m jealous of all your animal time. Sigh.

  8. You look like an Amish man, just need the hat! Enjoy your trip!

  9. Marc Ramsey says:

Wouldn’t this be constituted as cheating on the “walk across the country?”

    Just kidding!

I love keeping up with your progress! It is PROOF that America still has good folks who care!!

    Keep it up bud!

  10. katzien says:

How stately you look! Gorgeous horse too.

  11. mike says:

Not sure what to make of this walking trip? Must be nice to be able to leave your job to take a long walk. I would be more impressed if I read he was a mentor to troubled youth or something simlar. Long walk? Big whoppie..

    Best of luck though…

  12. Jonathan says:

Is that horse unusually large? Or have you shrunk?

  13. Andrew in VT says:

    To quote Bing Crosby:
I’m an old cowhand from the Rio Grande
And I learned to ride before I learned to stand…

  14. Jennie J. says:

Hey now, it wouldn’t be cheating if this were a Tennessee Walker!! Cuz they like walkin! Just need to take me up on my offer to stay in Rockaway Oregon and you can ride one of mine! So nice of them to give you a saddle pad so you didn’t get horse hair on your butt!

    • Steve from Rockaway, OR says:

Jennie….you in Rockaway too? We need to make sure Matt gets a warm welcome.

      • Jennie J. says:

Hi Steve! YES! I totally agree! Rockaway is so small I think it’s fantastic that Matt is putting it on the map. Our family has had a coast house there for 50+ years now. We need to keep tabs on Matt and make sure when he gets close we are all there to welcome him to our wonderful little town!

        • Michael in Atlanta says:

Gosh, the rest of the country is countin’ on you Rockawites. You should have plenty of warning he’s coming. So everybody should come out and hoot and holler and celebrate. Do us all proud.

  15. John Brunner says:

Wow…the horse looks really bummed out. You would pass for an Amishman only if you shaved the mustache!

  16. jose munoz says:

Hey my friend nice too meet you.

    your friend josé.

  17. Amanda MN says:

LOL…Well it is nice to see a picture of you again! I bet the kids got a kick out of this. You are bringing smiles and laughter across America :)

  18. Josh says:

You could do the Old Spice add, “I’m on a horse.”

  19. Lori says:

Finally someone else got the Old Spice connection – Josh!! That’s the first thing I thought of. If I could whistle their theme song in writting…”woo woo woo…”
