I don’t know how you could hold the cart on the road in that kind of wind…. hope you found shelter again tonight and are someplace safe and DRY.

  3. Gigi says:

Keeping you in my prayers Matt. Been following you for a few weeks now and visiting your site everyday :-) I hope the wind will not be as strong for the rest of your journey. Safe travels!

Wow!! That must be the wind we had in the Pac NW earlier this week. Sending dry and safe vibes your way!!

  5. Jeff says:

I was wondering after yesterdays train post…whether the wind was at your back or walking into it, I was walking on my lunch hour (usually do 4 miles) and 1/2 the time the wind was in my face…and the return was at my back what a relief…and then it occured to me .. that in your shoes…if at your face … you don’t get the relief unless the wind changes. Good luck and thanks for the shot. I appreciate the turbines now.

  6. Russell says:

Hope you’re having fun; looks rather boring and quite tedious to me. I tried this 40 years ago ( Chicago-LA). Took southern route (Rt.66). Damn near died in desert. I wont even drive through desert anymore. Death Valley sucks! For all you desert lovers out there you can burn in hell (you like the heat). I’m old and pretty much worn out now; can’t walk around the block. Got some good stories to tell though, even if no one wants hear them. Can’t tell a good story on twitter.

  9. Candice In Alabama says:

    Mighty and LOUD! :)

  10. Lori says:

…welcome to the Dakotas… just wait until you get into the Columbia Gorge between Pasco, WA & Portland, OR… screw yer hat on tight!
