“Turn around…don’t drown.” Oh my goodness, what a sight. I hope you didn’t have to go too far out of your designated route.

  2. Chris says:

I hope you didn’t have to take a major detour that cost you miles…

  3. Steve L says:

Couldn’t have been to deep….break out the fishing tackle as you cross maybe catch some dinner!!!!

  4. Bob B says:

Safety jacket on before you cross, I always like backup plans, good call Matt..walk on dude..

  5. Jeff says:

I guess swimming would totaly negate the walk part….OH well.. a detour you will go, a detour you will go….
Hi ho……..watch them snakes I say.

  6. Janet says:

I”ve been tracking you on the web. I wish I could do what you are doing. I comment on this because it remind me of my home town. We were crazy we would drive across :-). Godspeed

  7. Adam M says:

Google maps says you take it, you take it.

  8. MN Roxanne says:

oh my… not a ferry in sight… what to do??

  9. Tesla says:

Talk about a lot of rain… Wow. Hope you didn’t have to go too far out of the way. Maybe you should have packed an inflatable raft in your cart too :)

  10. Craig... (Yeah, From NC!) says:

    OMG! Well…. errr…google..ummmm…. turn…

  11. Andrew in VT says:

Many years ago in eastern KY I encountered a scene like this. No bridge, just a ford. On a state highway, no less. There was a stake at midstream to mark the depth: if the water was over the mark it was unsafe to cross. This one, however, doesn’t look intentional.

So, I guess you got a little rain?

  12. Does anyone else think the electrical lines in the water are a bad idea? It almost looks like an optical illusion. I mean the road is marked all the way through to the other side by high electrical wires and markers in the water. All of it along what looks like it should be a road. Weird. Can’t always trust GPS.

  13. Chaser1 says:

And that lake will get deeper, hurry and get this side of Bismark-Dickinson quickly. There is more rain coming!

  14. Jenna says:

Wow. This is a metaphor for my life right now. (Maybe for yours, too)? I am taking a detour and enjoying the alternate path. Godspeed :)

  15. Bekah says:

    Beware:
    Lake Crossing Ahead

  16. Bekah says:

The Dry Lake is no longer (historical), it is present and accounted for. ^_^

  17. Julie says:

EEK Matt, hope your detour wasnt too outta the way ;-)

  18. Mike says:

Water on over the road is never good. I hope the detour wasn’t to far out of your way.

  19. Jason Eppink says:

    Oh man I LOVE this.

  20. kim says:

Again, the images are just a WOW WOW WOW

  21. Laurenis says:

I say you hop on your container (strapped to your cart) and just saaaailll across :)

  22. Melody says:

Looks like some of the streets here in Oklahoma City last Thursday after our flood

  23. Candice In Alabama says:

That looks dangerous! I hope someone came along and posted a detour sign/roadblock.

  24. pam says:

I live not too far from there and used to take that road on my way to work every day. Now, it’s an extra few miles to take the interstate to work and can’t wait until they get that road fixed! I’ve enjoyed watching your trek along the areas I know!

  25. Tracy says:

See if you would wait until winter you could get across that water because it would be ice lol so that must be a “winter only” road! :)

  26. JD says:

    Caulk the wagon and float!
