Karen: it’s only been 14 1/2 weeks. just a little over 3 months 1 week. on the other hand, vicariously, it’s amazing all the places Matt has shown others, in his travels.

  4. Candice in Alabama says:

I believe those are brands – like from branding irons for cattle/sheep.

  5. Sue in NY says:

I’m with those guessing brands for livestock. And congrats to Matt for his journey – regardless the exact length of time! (I’d still be in Ohio or somewhere in PA!)

  6. Thomas says:

Yes, I agree that those look like brands.

  7. Yeosaph Ferguson says:

When I saw them my first thought was… brands

  8. T.J. says:

It’s the missing message from the tv show LOST.

  9. Dan says:

These are cattle brands, likely from notable or long established ranchers and ranch company’s in the area. You will see more examples of “brand brandishing” as you head into the high plains.

  10. Janine says:

    Hey that’s neat!
