  1. Jeff says:

Nice one ladies. Hay it was them that kidnapped the Heiress……ahhh the soup, i mean plot thickens.

    • Candice in Alabama says:

Wrong Heiress: Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

      • Jeff says:

have you seen the t-shirt before candice? To know the “link” to Romans? Just wondering. Good one.

        • Candice in Alabama says:

No – Jeff – I had to zoom in on Flickr and noticed the Romans 8:17 – and of course GOOGLE.

          • Jeff says:

Lord above, I meant no harm. Just a little joke…..Good thing he likes to forgive…..

NJ Heiress version, soprano kidnapping…. Romans version….we inherit the earth>>>>> I like romans

      • Stephen says:

I think Candice is just splitting heirs. (grins)

  2. carolyn says:

To the ladies of Jordan – You all look like very sweet, kind and charming people.

I am sure Matt was very appreciative of you refeuling him for the next leg of his trek.

I wonder-did he get a chance to COW down on one of those 12 oz. ribeyes?

  7. MN Roxanne says:

Many thanks for feeding Matt…looks like a friendly place to stop and eat!

  8. Shannon in AR says:

  9. Jeff says:

Question to answer in book…did the soups and sandwhich’s have a play on words with the Dino theme??

  10. Christine says:

I bet this young girl is Shavon from the Jake Fellman website.

  11. katzien in austin says:

Veggie sub? How about a few slices of ham or turkey? Man, and Matt, cannot walk 2 dozen miles a day on veggies. I’m kidding! Sweet generous family.

  12. Jeff says:

Now Now…the right veggies pack a punch.

  13. Pat in CA says:

People like the lovely ladies of Jordan offset . . . no, way over-balance . . . the grundgy (?) people we hear about in most newscasts. What a delightful way to hear about the good people in this country. I think “salt of the earth” was invented to describe all those who help Matt along the way.

  14. sorry this is not shavon but she works at the store

    • Christine says:

Thanks for the reply. I was just guessing. Thanks to all the nice people there for sharing with Matt.

  15. Anna One in CA says:

  19. carolyn says:

welcome Lori, Russell and Travis to Hobo Nation. I’m glad you were able to meet Matt.

    • young says:

Carolyn – I take it that ‘Hobo Nation’ is referring to the Matt’s armchair followers collective? If so, I am quite proud to be a part of it. Thank you Matt for using technology and allowing us to follow your fantastic dream-scape.

      • Yes, if you click on the small thumbnail pics it takes you to the flickr page for this and there he has himself listed as Matt the hobo. I believe if you click on the upper right on his details of his trip it takes you to his page where he again calls himself Matt the hobo. And WE here are all a part of the “hobo nation” accordingly. Did I get that right Jeff??

  20. Jeff says:

    Me too….Karen Too….Don too….etc etc etc……

  21. Steve in WI says:

Thank you ladies for taking care of Matt on this part of his travels. I have a sister that lives in Oregon and plan on driving that way to visit some day. I am keeping track of the diners that have been on his route and have taken care of him. If the timing is right when I Get near these diners I will make sure to stop in and reward your generosity.

  22. Janine says:

Our Matt forgot to tell the names of these generous lovely ladies!

  23. Don in Tennessee says:

    Aye- Yes-

HOBO NATION-people educating themselves about the history and sites of our great United States foot by foot courtesy of Matt Hobo Green and VERIZON-CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW-Communications! Lewis and Clark would be proud! What a trip.

When I was growing up; we had a dinner called HOBOS-take a big hamburger patty , put it in alumimum foil with carrots, taters, onions, celery and whatever else and cook it on a campfire or oven at home for 1 hour at 375.

    Mighty tasty!

  24. Craig (Yeah..in NC!) says:

btw… I really like pepsi straw dispenser !
I’ve never seen on like it.. beats the ugly brown plastic ones or the silver and black ones at the movie.
I wonder if they have a diet coke one?
ohh I don’t like the old style with the glass jar and the metal lid…. reminds me of the barber shop and that same thing they fill with the blue lice-a-cide.
    (scratching)
