St. Ignatius's water supply is contaminated with E. coli, but this spring a few miles outside town runs clean and cold, straight out of the mountain. I would have missed it if it weren't for a couple locals filling up water bottles here.

Madan is my buddy from New York, but he grew up in Montana. I knew he was coming out to visit friends and family sometime soon, but I didn't know any other details. Then, all of sudden, he and his friend Callee showed up on a gravel road in the middle of the woods, bearing knishes from New York! They walked with me for a while, and we ate lunch together in St. Ignatius, where I had my first huckleberry product: a milkshake.
