Hmmm….that is very interesting…seems like something typical in Portland. :)

    • Kerin says:

It’s certainly not rare! We don’t get big ones that often, but once every couple of years we’ll have a house or two fall down a hill.

  2. Roe says:

I’m thinking if you’re standing too close and reading that sign, the landslide could be happening. Clear out, Matt!

  3. Dorinda from Mentor, Oh. says:

Yes interesting indeed. But by all the mountains that are around there I can believe this. But this was posted at the beginning of June, isn’t it safe yet? That’s a long time to be on the look out for a land slide isn’t it?

Or, you can take this a different way and ask is this anything like a water slide? Matt-did you bring your bathing suit?

  4. Maybe it should be bigger and fenced in, if a landslide is eminent…but since a landslide can come at any moment from a mountain side…maybe this sign is mundane…a mute point…a understood idea…etc…

  5. charlie says:

NC has land and rockslides on I-40 over in the mountains. the latest slide shut down that highway for months!

  6. Jeff says:

Matt does not have months….he has a wedding in 4 weeks…(not his) ..get moving

  7. MN Roxanne says:

Does “possible” landslide mean it could be happening??? and the sign is still up???

  8. Candice in Alabama says:

Better safe than 6 feet under mud, I always say.

    • Candice in Alabama says:

P.S. Has Oregon any Kudzu – with their rainfall – whew – they’d be overtaken in minutes, if Kudzu ever gets a root-hold.

  9. katzien in austin says:

Jeff freaked me out with his “he’s got a wedding” comment. Man! Don’t scare me like that, I still think I have a chance, heehee. Several of us have temporary Matt crushes, and the fantasy will soon come to an end. ;-(
