  1. Karen Too says:

The ubiquitous row houses of the outer boroughs.

  2. Dorinda from Mentor, Oh. says:

Couple pics back had the crowns, these have chimneys. These chimneys sure do stand out though. Probably because they are on row houses. I don’t think I’d like living in a row house. You REALLY gotta get along with your neighbors!

  3. tna says:

I’m trying to picture the fireplace and can’t….the porch on the lower floor underneath it gets in the way.

  4. Karen Too says:

I once lived right next door to, and across the street from, a series of row houses similar to the ones here, and I have been inside a number of them when looking for a place to live in Brooklyn.

There are quite a lot of designs from which to choose.

For example, I lived in a completely different kind in Manhattan, which I quite enjoyed, but I did not care at all for the ones typical of the design shown here.

As Dorinda pointed out, you’d better like your neighbors. Even so, there is such a thing as too much togetherness. ;-)

You can see some history, pictures, etc. of them here.

Floor plans of many on here, along with other info.

I didn’t go through all of them, but perhaps there is one that illustrates the chimney layout for tna.
