    In my many years in NYC, I’ve never seen it open.

    The site I found, below, says it was opened “610 times for boat traffic, and 42 times for testing” in 1990. Guess I was busy that year. ;-)

    Here is an interesting site on NYC bridges, but since I could not get a report on Norton, or McAfee, on its safety, I’m using the cached version here.

    And a great place to do a little urban exploring. Last time I was there the gate was unlocked, easy access to the lower level of the bridge. See big, greasy gears first hand!
