This is the counterpoint to my walk across the US. Instead of seeing a million places for just a minute each, I'm going to spend a million minutes exploring just one place. By the time I finish walking every block of every street in all five boroughs, I'll have traveled more than 8,000 miles on foot — all within a single city. Details!

Just curious about your method Matt-
When you walk a perimeter like this, what and when determines when you’ll go back and walk the rest of the blocks within it?
Is it a plan or just random?
BTW – my morning always starts better with a cup of Joe and a look thru your daily wanderings.

There are a lot of factors, including the amount of time I have to walk on a given day, my starting and ending points, and my attempts to leave unwalked blocks connected to other unwalked blocks in such a way that I can efficiently walk them later. Also, at this point, I often draw up my routes to fill in the gaps in areas I have mostly walked. So what might look like a weird, random route is often a fairly straightforward attempt to walk the last remaining streets in an area.
