    Serenity…

Thank you for your unselfish sharing of your journey with all of us.

  2. How long was that time?
Love the video but wish it was longer. I love to listen to the birds sing. It’s natures music. Beautiful.

That extra-long, final LWT video reminded me of close of the CBS “Sunday Morning” show every week — they always end with nature sights and sounds and shots run quite a long time with no V/O. Thanks Matt.

I admire your bravery, I would be scared out there alone. Is there wildlife in that region that one should be worried about creeping up on a lone walker. Honey bears maybe?

I heard about your trip from an article that was run in my local paper (I’m in Vancouver, WA…towards the end of your trip) so I started following you a few weeks ago. I just want to say thank you for sharing all you do. It’s quite an experience to go out there and just walk. Oh the things you get to see! Plus, I’m glad there are some very nice people out there…makes me feel like all is not lost in this world. Stay dry and well wishes for good weather….

  5. Angie says:

That was beautiful. I could watch it for hours. Thanks for taking us on the walk with you.

  6. Nate says:

Been following the journey for a few weeks now and enjoying it almost as much as you seem to be. I am a Washingtonian teaching academic English in Malaysia to young adults from all over the world. I mentioned your walk in class the other day in relation to something I can’t remember. The student commented that it was a good thing you decided to walk during the summer months…

  7. Holly says:

    YOU ARE AWESOME! Keep walking!

  8. Karen Too says:

A beautiful, fitting end to this segment of your walkin’.

I was sufring the web and came upon your site of your travels…WOW is all I can say. I feel so very humble by all your crossings….(with people and the great country we live in!!!) What a great experience you must be having. We drove cross country a year ago, found an “off the beaten path” to go many many times and met some great people along the way…abolutely nothing like you have experienced, but great in our way!!! Good luck and God Bless you!! Wish you were headed our way,we live in the mohave desert and we would wecome you with open arms a good meal and a place to hang your hat for the night!!! ‘-) Good luck on your journey and may the weather be with you!!!!

Return of Cart Cam. Awesome. so i played this on my kitchen table and my parakeet (chirpie) went bazzerk with the sounds of “trail”. You may be “alone” but you are so far from that. Keep trecking…in a day or so I figure you are half way there. at the pelican Lake picture I left some facts I figured out last night. Maybe 50 miles.

I kind of wish there were more trails…but I am sure the Dakota’s will look alot like this (in wilderness that is). Hope you had a peaceful sleep…Looking forward to Day 77 and what you will SHARE with us today.
    Peace and safte travels Brotha.

  12. Dave says:

Enjoying the view of your journey. Thanks for posting the pix. How are the mosquitos in that part of the world? I’d think that is probably the most dangerous part other than possibly some “friday night drivers.” Enjoy!

  13. mindy says:

    NICE!

  14. Joan says:

Savor the trees and I hope you’re stocked up on sunscreen. :-) Thanks for sharing your walk.

  15. Kristy says:

This video is probably, for me, the most powerful post yet on your journey. I’ve been “with” you since you started this adventure, and I thank you again for sharing.

  16. Hugh says:

    Matt,

I really enjoyed this video. What an amazing trip you are taking us on. Best of luck.

  17. Lisa says:

me likey :) Well I do know a better, more proper way to type this, “me likey” is what came to mind. I just love the mornings when I can come to my computer and “join” you for a moment on your awe-inspiring trip. The pictures, the witty comments, it surpases any need to read the “news’paper when I can see, hear and join in the news. Who wants to read all the crummy news in print about our great country when i can join a fellow walking, enjoying a country full of beauty and heart warming people that open their lives, pantrys with you. I say put down that ratty ol paper and join Matt, and fall back in love with the country we live in.

Thank you again Matt, i know I repeat myself with every comment, but I thank you for helping me fall back in love with the good ol’ USA :)

  18. Kimmy says:

Im jealous. I have to sit in a cube with artificial lights that suck the life out of me and you get to walk a nice peaceful trail listening to birds sing. I’m gonna go eat a piece of cake and try to find my red stapler…

    • Donnell says:

O I am sooo jealous as well, I too am a Cube dweller 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, for all of us Cube dwellers, Walk on Matt!!!!

  19. Matt says:

Keep on walkin’ man…you are an inspiration to those of us who are stuck in cubicles right now :P

  20. colleen says:

ahhhhh man! you’re killin’ me! not another person, the trail all to yourself….oh heaven!!! yes, to repeat the previous comments, thanks for sharing these amazing moments……..love the background sounds…can hear your footsteps and the birds’ song….NEAT!

  21. Jennifer says:

You should get you a pair of skates…anyways I keep track of you, you are one brave person.. have a good time on your long walk.

  22. Mary Lynn says:

I love following your journey….I watch everyday……I would love to walk with you and your peaceful walk……

  23. Andrew in VT says:

I’ve been following and enjoying this adventure for nearly a month. Of all the beautiful images you’ve shared, this video clip is quite possibly the best. Hearing your footsteps and watching the scenery slowly pass made it real. Thanks.

  24. MN Roxanne says:

You are definitely inspiring me to get out on the trails…. I live here in MN and haven’t visited that one yet. The video made it feel like we were walking with you. I loved hearing you walking and the birds… what bliss. Thanks for sharing the path with us.

  25. Marjorie says:

Sorry you had to leave the trail. Thanks for the lovely video and audio of the quaking aspens, wind and birds. All the reasons we love biking on the trail.

  26. Rose says:

I have been following your journey too after I saw an article on Yahoo.com. I even went back to day one to catch up with you walking! I think it is great to walk, you slow down and really notice things instead of whizzing by. What an experience, I so enjoy the walk cam too~ Keep on walking for all of us!!!

  27. Candice in Alabama says:

Thanks Matt – I really enjoyed your sharing your experience through this video. My favorite – the birdsong, along with the peacefulness of the scene. Best wishes – and I’m still trying to catch up to your current day’s blog.
