July 13th, 2010

My dining companions at the Kozy Korner included an older gentleman bicycling from Washington to Virginia, and another fellow returning home to southwestern Montana from a motorcycle trip to Maine.

  2. Carolyn says:

You did stop at the Kozy Korner. I’m glad that you had some fellow travelers. I wish I could of been a fly on the wall.

  3. Karen Too says:

Must have made for some very stimulating dinner conversation.

Funny sign; love their sense of humor.

    • Gayle Opie says:

Someone in Winnett used to sell tee shirts that said something like: Winnett, MT, it isn’t the end of the world but you can see it from there. My mom had one years ago.

  4. Dennis says:

We are all going somewhere… and to almost everyone, the other guy seems to be going somewhere more interesting. I was looking for you a few weeks ago going across ND. Didn’t realize I passed you till I seen the giant cow (Sue, I think??) You must know that you are envied by so many of the rest of us walking fertilizer sticks… Looking forward to your celebration party on the west coast!

  5. MN Roxanne says:

So two bikers and walkin’ Matt… great conversation there!

  6. Were you able to get/give some travelling tips to one another? How awesome for the three of you to meet. What are the odds? I believe in divine intervention and this is one of those “coincidences” that isn’t really so coincidental. Was meant to be. Awesome.

  7. Joan says:

Winnett population 185. That three or four square blocks… maybe… with plenty of green space.

  8. Joan says:

Oh, and by the way, it looks like they have a Lions Club. Good for them. Salute.

  9. Barb C. says:

Matt I have always thought there should be a book, but this seals the deal . You walking, a gentelman biking, and a gentleman on a motocycle, all met by chance in the small town of Winnett. How great was that. Would have given anything to sit and listen to the three of you talk.

  10. Don in Tennessee says:

MMM- 185 people – I bet the Lion’s share are members of the Lion’s Club.

They should renmame the town Winnett Den!

    I love these little towns!

  11. kim says:

IT IS AMAZING HOW LIFE BRINGS PEOPLE TOGETHER IN SO MANY DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS. YOU ALL SHOULD BE PROUD OT HAVE MET.

  12. katzien in austin says:

Wow, what a story. Now why didn’t take a group photo???

  13. Jeff says:

Charles U Farley….My extreme Apologies for not having faith and belief in you. I would say Chuck but it is to strong a play on words for me. You were right on the nose with your comment and place and location. Please accept my apology.

  14. Craig (Yeah..in NC!) says:

I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall.. listening to the travel stories of such travelers.
    Interesting indeed.
    PEACE!

  15. Steve W. says:

i’m the motorcycle rider on my way back from maine. i just wanted to thank you for reminding me that it’s never too late. i might get that bicycle ride in yet, and i am going to mention your story to my son matt. good luck in your future adventures!

  16. Dianna in Arvada, Colorado says says:

    Dorinda, Jeff and Stephen;
I really LOL’ed with you as you all three so cleverly wrote that joke about “Two bikers and Matt walk into this diner……One says to the other….…. I’m waiting right here until Winnett’s rush hour is over.”

I don’t comment much at all. The only time -so far- was on June 3rd. But I do follow your journey, Matt, and read most of the comments.
