    Yeah! First Post.
Do you hear the buzz from the wires?
No need to start climbing at this point in your journey either…

  2. Anthony in Raleigh says:

Check out the pictures here for some crazy designs / concepts in towers:

  3. Jeff says:

NUMBA TWO feeling a little buzzy on that.

  4. Michelle says:

Sigh I’m never 1st. Hey, I’m 4TH!! Pretty close. I’ll bet you can use these in a really bad sci-fi, like the “Electricity Monsters From Outer-Space” or something.

    Peace, from Michelle in Providence

    • Dorinda from Mentor, Oh. says:

Oh so close Michelle! But like you say at least your 4th.
I thought too that they look like electricity monster towers in all different shapes and sizes. Just like Transformers- I’m waiting for them to lift their legs up out of the ground and start walking towards Matt!! lol.

      • Gigi says:

LOL Dorinda .. those must be Papa, Mama and Baby Monster Towers. They must be waiting for their porridge sent through the the electric wires. Stay away from them Matt.

  5. Terry from NJ says:

    Shocking!

  6. Amanda in WA says:

Just a peek of the mighty Columbia! We will see more of it very soon! Happy walking Matt!

  7. Doug in Oregon says:

Almost to the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. Now that is some scenery!

    • deanna valenti meyer says:

Yes it is!! I totally agree and love to drive through it as much as I can. Definitely one of the treasures of living in the area.

  8. carolyn says:

what’s out there that needs that much power?

  9. Roe says:

Coming from Shasta? to the Southwest. My nieces used to call the towers “cowboys” if they had six shooters down and “cowgirls” if they had the skirts!

  10. Christina says:

Carolyn, the Columbia River is a HUGE provider of hydro-electric power to most of the Northwest. I am not fully informed on this but I can state that the two local power providers just in my little town of Wenatchee provides power for most of the Seattle Metro area, significant portions of Eastern WA, and we sell our excess power to PGE in order to supply California.

That is only two county PUD’s (Public Utility Districts) out of the many in Eastern WA.

  11. Catch some electric skies tonight! The meteor shower is not to be missed. Hope you get some pics.

  12. ZC says:

That middle style tower always make me think of samurai, anime-style.

  13. Don in Tennessee says:

Our country is way behind in keeping up with electricity demands and the power grids are not adequate to handle contuied demands. We need to invest in more nuck power plants.

  14. katzien in austin says:

Great geometry in this photo!! But yes, we do need more investment in alternative energy infrastructure.

  15. Robert says:

I think the short & fat one is cute.
