Good Morning Matt & fellow travelers! today’s photo’s (actually yesterday’s in reality) are awesome and have taught me a little about not assuming. It is stunning, this pictorial of the trail, say less the vandalism – which is in a way art and cult graffiti…just in the wrong place – but if you think of how we gobble up the beauty for the sake of the almighty dollar, sorry st. Mary, But it is America. Matt – if you please- more shots of mile markers..for the sole purpose of distance…logged. Peace my brotha..safe travels today. See your shots tonight…stay well.
Matt,
I think the journey you are on is crucial, and I am cheering you on the whole way. Regardless of how each day, week, month or the entire journey and beyond happens, making the decision to make this trek and then *doing it* has changed your life, and will continue to do so, and it also changes mine and everyone else who has read about your journey, the people you’ve met, and the people you will never meet, but who were changed by people who changed.
Reading the story about you on MSNBC.com on May 27th made me so happy! I look forward to each day of your journey and I am in the process of catching up from the beginning to present day, as well as moving forward in time with you. I was sorry I didn’t know about you earlier or I might have seen you as you passed through northern Illinois.
Good luck to you on your path, no matter how many turns you make and no matter where you end up!
Great stuff your sending out. A mans dream is to follow his heart, keep following. Following you from Iraq on line, makes my days pass by much faster. Have a safe trip..
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
Here is a little bit of history on this church, and the surrounding area: http://www.stmarysofmelrose.com/history.html
Matt, you’ve got a real gift for photography.
I agree, you do have a gift. This is an awesome picture, and I enjoyed reading the little bit of history as well. Keep on walking :) Have a good day.

It’s getting pretty weird how my mind keeps making soundtracks to your pictures….
