I just cannot believe how quickly you’re traveling! It amazes me every day to see how far you’ve gotten. This is a fantastic journey you’re on (both outwardly and inwardly) and I thank you so much for allowing us to be with you.
yea. And even though you told me you weren’t checking the blog everyday .. I would think maybe you have….we got the full 360 view on this one. I saw the video on Hobo at flicker. Loved seeing the swallows and both sides of the pond/road. No Mall on this road for sure.
the sky in the mid west always reminds me of snow globes – that dome effect the sky seems to have over the plains is amazing to me.
I am enjoying all of your pictures, and take to looking up the small towns that you are traveling in to see just how small they are. Oriska was listed as having a population of 168 in 2000, Valley City was just under 7000
Very peaceful looking place. Matt – you are an inspiration. I can’t walk as far as you, but you inspire me to take my video camera along with me – even for the short walk around the block. I haven’t taken the camera along yet and was kicking myself yesterday near dusk. The sky above me was dusky blue and way in the distance was a pink topped humongous thunderhead with lightning flashes going off INSIDE the top of the thunderhead cloud. It was beautiful. It made me think of you on your journey and your documenting the scenes along the way. P.S. I’m terrified of lightning – but the distance was enough that I never heard thunder and had a beautiful view of the weather phenomenon.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.

Thanks, Matt. Always a pleasure to see where you’ve been, and what’s down the road.

Is that a road in the video, or another rail trail? Looks awfully narrow.
Thanks for the look around.

If you aren’t doing this, already, you should make the “Looks around” a series :). Beautiful day!
