An extremely kind and giving woman, she invited me in without hesitation, gave me a bed for the night, and made sure my belly was full of homecooked food, both during my stay and well into the future.
Just warms my heart to see these wonderful people helping him out, too. We are not shown these acts of kindness on the ‘news’ or media. Hang in there. Keep those updates coming. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. -A Fan In Missouri
Matt not only has following you been way better than t.v., it has restored my faith in humanity. There really are kind generous people out there. Makes up for all the “nut cases” in the world.
I’ve been following this blog for about a month now. It makes me happy to see that great and caring people like Debra or any of the other families you have stayed with are out there and are willing to help you out. Keep on trucking! Thanks for the great pics and letting us know that there are still friendly people around.
People like Debra restore my faith in humanity. I appreciate her kindness towards the wandering soul and I have a feeling that she is that generous towards all people! I’m glad that Matt has guardian angels with him on this trek!
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
Updates like these, of those who helped you along your way, are always my favorite!
I agree. It is so refreshing to see the kindness of people!
These updates are my favorite, too! I enjoy reading about acts of kindness.
Me too!

How sweet. But the sign says John and Sophia (I think). Curious…
I am going to get a smarty pants – ectomy tonight. If I don’t I will get kicked off the hobo site.
Nice of her… but she seems to have a chip on her shoulder ;)
She’s got a ‘warm fuzzy’ on her shoulder. ;-)
a warm fuzzy is just a tater chip that’s been laying around for a couple of days. same thing.
