If I had to look at that view everyday while eating breakfast I wouldn’t talk either. Do you think the Monks built the Monestry with that view in mind???
I was waiting for your post today and what a beautiful view indeed. I enjoy every post and your whole trip (the purpose or lack thereof) makes me ponder on how much I am attached to my material things and that I should not and that I should enjoy life more. In a way, you have touched all of our lives without even knowing us … that is pretty admirable.
BTW what are your plans for Fourth of July? Tomorrow we celebrate Canada Day.
Wow. I know I keep saying it, but wow. All the beauty and scenery out this window. Watching a storm roll in, a sunset or sunrise depending on the direction of this. Awesome views.
One more look at the view, I think I see a river in the background. Also I’ve been trying to imagine it with snow on the ground==peaceful, quiet, and serene.
Its moments like this that you will relish for the rest of your life. It moments like this that will help give an understand of what you are doing! Thank you for sharing your expariances during your travels with us. I have been following you since you hit Chicago! I look forward to following your adventure everyday!
I am from ND, and you are right, we don’t get much credit for our scenery, and we have such a variety here. This place you see here, is the gateway to the badlands just west of here, and that is truly amazing too. To the east of here, the hills begin to flaten somewhat. We have wide open spaces here, and I’ve been to many states, all nice to visit, but there is no place like here, especially to see a sunset! Come visit some time!
your picture says it all, there is no greater force on earth than nature itself and you get to admire it at its finest every day.
Thanks for sharing and be safe.
It must have been such a change of scenery for you to be so high up after having been at ground level for the past few months. :) What a gorgeous view. What lucky monks. :)
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
Hey, I think I can see the Rockies way out in the distance!
Incredible View.
You ate in peace, with the brothers. Does life get better?
I think not!

Life can be beautiful even without trees, Amazing landscape!
It looks so serene.
Your caption, and the view of course, say it all. Magical.
The view is breath taking. I agree with Barb C., no talking needed with a view like this.

wow. i think of monks eating in a dark room with wood chairs and wood tables and not a window to be had, you know??? this is beautiful….
I can see how that might cause your day to start with a peaceful spirituality.
What an incredible view! North Dakota doesn’t get enough credit in the world of tourism.

Where I live it’s like a jungle of trees and vines and kudzu… lush and green…. but, I do so love the treeless, rolling vistas out west!
