A quiet, gray day on the trail
June 8th, 2010
I'm walking across America.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so. If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out. If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania. You can read all about the details of my trip if you're so inclined.

Hi Matt, do you ever worry you might be away from civilization for days without access to clean water or food? And what about a medical emergency? I don’t know you but I find myself worrying about you. Must be the “Mom” in me.

Simple yet amazing photo! You can almost draw a perfect X from the four corners that follows the lines of the road and tree tops. I love the balance and symmetry. Mat…you are the highpoint of my day. I catch up with you over coffee, then it’s all downhill from there. ;-)
that looks like some solitude I could use right now. Maybe I will just stare at the photo for a bit, and play the aspens in the background…..ahhhhhh
