I think I have now walked enough of the city's streets to state with confidence that this young lady's face graces the windows of more New York hair and beauty salons than any other.
No plates and no registration — I guess you don't need 'em when you're an intergalactic space cruiser.
Spending most of my waking hours in 2012 either walking around New York or working on this website, I'm pretty sure I saw more ads for the Dominican presidential election than I did for the US one! This sign looks to have been updated since Danilo Medina's victory back in May; I'd guess it is maintained by the resident of the adjacent apartment with the Dominican flags in the windows.
At first glance, this apartment complex looks to be totally vacant, but I saw a handful of lit-up windows, as well as several cars in the parking area.
Looks like it's been sitting up on that container for more than five years!
I haven't seen (or noticed, anyway) a mezuzah on a warehouse before. I had always thought mezuzot were only placed on residential doorposts, but apparently that's not true.
I'm walking every street in New York City.
This is the counterpoint to my walk across the US. Instead of seeing a million places for just a minute each, I'm going to spend a million minutes exploring just one place. By the time I finish walking every block of every street in all five boroughs, I'll have traveled more than 8,000 miles on foot — all within a single city. Details!
