A very kind couple. Duane set up a cot for me in the garage to keep me out of the rain, and Sherri made me three delicious meals, the highlight of which was a homemade milkshake!

I'm walking across America.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so. If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out. If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania. You can read all about the details of my trip if you're so inclined.

It has been a born privilege to be the daughter of the “salt of the earth”. As I see there has been many comments about how much they look alike, I would like to add when we played hide & seek growing up, when it was mom’s turn to hide she would put on dad’s cap and flannel shirt and eat a brownie….she always won.
Matt, what was your secret to getting the homemade milkshake? My husband would appreciate the insight.
