Straight out of the Bat Cave! Don’t it look like a Toronado, on backwards?
PS. I really dig that Viking Totem, there’s a certain phallic je ne sais quoi about it ;)
looks like a 1958 ford fairlane. guessing by the cut shape of the body by the back tire and the scalloped trim.. looks to be the original paint job as well.
My husband’s first car was a 1962 Ford Fairlane 5000 (I think that’s the number) but I’ve never seen one. I wonder how closely it looks to this one. I’ll have to show it to him and see if it looks anything like his. He talks about that car all the time.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
I think 1958. Possibly 1957.
Stumbled across your blog and have really enjoyed following it. I guess I’m taking your trip vicariously.
Thanks!
a 1957 Ford

The one pictured is sure to be from the 1950s. Love cars like that one.

I’m reasonably sure that is a 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 four-door hardtop.
Agree with Leo. He’s right…..used to ride in these and drive them too!!! Great pic Matt!
Note to self: Most use of the word vicariously..imjustwalkin.com for sure.
Nice Garden Art I must say.
Yep, it’s a ’57. My family owned one when I was a kid. Best of luck, Matt!

Sadly, that’s probably its place of death. It will be a “one of those days” project for someone and its day will never come.
