I’ve been visiting your site everyday to see the new pictures and to see how far you have progressed. The photos have been absolutely breathtaking. As simple as this photo is, it’s one of my favorites.
Been enjoying your blog since I found it a week or so ago. I am in the western half of South Dakota, if you pass this way. By the way, those are granary’s, not silo’s. Silo’s are taller and made of cement and mostly in eastern states where there is more corn farming. Good luck in your travels.
I was just thinking…..ahhhh triplets, how cute. But then the beauty outweighs the want for a joke.
I wonder if matt is able to photoshop from his phone. OR are these ” as taken”
Love this photo Matt… when you look close, you can see the grass laying over flat from the wind… the sky is gorgeous! I agree with Karen Too… publish the pics for sure.
Speaking of the book deal, Matt and the web guru (Jeremy??) out to put a paypal donation button on the site. People can donate to Matt and help him get a book published.
Not sure how it works in terms of cost, but I believe they’ll print just when someone orders, and there is little if any start-up costs. I’ve heard it’s good quality, although I haven’t ordered one myself.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.

looks like 3 cups lined up for the Jolly Green Giant’s shell game……
If no one is smart enough to offer you a book deal for the photos alone, you must publish them yourself.
I agree
I agree. It would make an awesome time capsule of 2010.
Ditto. Ditto

I think my favorite part about this photo is the ability to see the rays of sunshine coming down on the ground. Absolutely LOVELY!

I believe you can get books published, with a print on demand (both hard and softcover) through various outlets, including this one:

Keep on walking!
I’d buy the book. hardcover or soft.. Matt, would you mind if I make this photo my computer background? I feel the solitude and peace it projects.
Grain bins, actually. Silos are the really tall brick or concrete structures.
surreal…..the sunlight…the bits of cloud, the 3 grain bins, the colors….fabulous shot…another world from mine….
“Amber waves of grain”, how wonderful Gods creation is to us, very nice picture of the sunrays..
