I especially like the five brown ones visible in the first row, upper right hand corner, and the three white/light blue ones in the second row, middle.
They’re lined up so neat and tidy. Doesn’t look like any kind of junk yard. Looks like a car dealership for old cars. There has to be a story behind this. I bet they sell them for collectors and for parts or something. That’s a lot of nice old cars there for sure.
WOW and WOW is all I can say. Nice and neatly lined up for sure!!! They all look in decent shape too for that part of the country (you would more likely see something like this in AZ where I live, with barely any rain, snow, salt etc….)
Maybe they are waiting for Harold LeMay to pick them up. He bought cars all over the country and didn’t keep good records. He passed away in 2000. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harold_LeMay He has a museum in Tacoma, WA http://www.lemaymuseum.org/ His collections are considered a national treasure.
ummm There are some mechanics in Cuba that would love to get their hands on some of these. I mean there are some real oldies out there. Now all this guy needs to do is build a Sonics
But why??? What’s the purpose in this? Why would more than one exist out there? What is it about these cars that they line them up and then let them rust? Makes no sense to me unless they sell them.
Awesome! Just started following your journey (better late than never), and I totally envy what you’re doing! Such beautiful photos of a beautiful journey!
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
Mr miagis back yard?

I would like one from colum A, and two from colum B, I will have the special in colum
no salt and heavy on the oil please.
I used to have a 1960 Cadillac… LOVED that car! You could probably find one here if you looked all day!
Such a shame to see all those cars rotting…someone said look at those brown ones…that’s rust friends.

That’s a great collection of cars. I agree they should be restored and driven once and a great while. Its a great photo tho. Have fun on your journey!

Wow, I see several decades of auto design represented here. It’s not a car dealership, it’s a parts dealership.
Shangri-La!! Wow look at all those cars, from when cars had style.
Its a ride down memory lane for me!!

Texas
There are more than just a few of these places along the road through ND, SD, Wyoming and Montana.

That’s just the way we do things out here in the midwest.
I THINK YOU NEED ONE
It looks like they are at a drive-in theatre and are waiting for the movie to start.

I miss such views of the med-west, thank..
It’s a Weegee. http://museum.icp.org/museum/collections/special/weegee/weegee07a.html
This looks like my grandpa’s farm in South Dakota. It’s been too long
OCD junk yard! Love it.
Great photo! This would be a wonderful “graveyard” to meander through.
I have a buddy that would just be droolin’ over all the old Detroit steel sittin’ here… He’d be like a kid in a candy shop!
