I think I can explain most of this sign. Menoken is a small town outside of Bismarck, and they celebrated their Centennial (100 years in existence) on June 21, 2008, most likely with a street dance and fun festivities. As for the 125 at the top, not completely sure what that means.
I think he’s implying that the sign says it was the 125th centennial – 12,500 years – plus the two years since 2008. He has a weird sense of math humor.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
I show only 172 miles to Montanna :)
Too funny, Matt.
I don’t know what the sign means, but your comment made me laugh :)
