He tracked me down late this afternoon to offer some cold beverages, and rode along beside me on his bike for a while. He also got us some beer and pizza at the end of the day!

Eleno (and some lumps)

I'm walking across America.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so. If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out. If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania. You can read all about the details of my trip if you're so inclined.

before reading posts – i read matt’s blurb… Beverage…In my house beverage is usualy on thing…and as I continued to read….beverage and pizza in the outback west of sorts….how freaking awesome is that.

I agree with JeffE, what’s with the t-shirt? Who is Joe and what does he need to be free from? The red maple leaf leads us to believe it is Canada but seriously…… free from Canada? Eleno is a very interesting guy. Unusual name, travels by bike with a beer and ominous t-shirt. Love it!

Found out the meaning behind his shirt… This a a friend of mine’s husband. Here is the story:
There was a guy named Joe from his hometown who went on a fishing trip in Canada. While he was there he gave a lady a ride who was hitch hiking and the police detained him. He was stuck up there for quite a long time. He is the editor of their little hometown paper. So the community did a bunch of things to try to get him home. A misunderstanding, but it lasted a long time.
