  1. Wind turbines…again…or is it yet???…

  2. Candice in Alabama says:

Now Matt – I’m liking the colors in this photo. Especially on Flickr Zoom!

  3. Thomas says:

What does it sound like? Do they creak and groan? Is it noisy?

  4. Christopher says:

Hey, Judy and Gretchen and the “cow methane emissions” researchers should conduct their research right on that hill – two fer one on them research dollars.

  5. Don in Tennessee says:

Looks like this place is not full of hot air! Yes, I will bet that the cow in the photo has made these things go faster from time to time. What a gas!

  6. deb says:

Yea for wind power! America needs more alternative power sources! They have put up some trial turbines in our area of Indiana to see if this area would be a good location. I guess they test the wind for two years before deciding.

  7. charlie says:

this reminded me of driving thru texas on i40. no civilization for miles and miles around, then…..turbines and a few cows….in the middle of nowhere!

  8. Mindy Curtis says:

We used to live in central Washington and one thing I learned… It’s SO windy. Hope you aren’t blown away!

  9. Wilma says:

I live on the border of WV-VA at the base of a mountain. We have quite a controversy here about wind turbines about them ruining our wonderful views, how noisy they are, a deterent to tourism, etc. I for one think they are beautiful and a wonderful alternative energy source. Thank you Matt for this journey.

I went on the wind farm about 7-9 years ago, and they were quiet, and I don’t understand why some people are saying they are loud, they are an eye sore, and few other things….???

I think it’s a great thing to have!

  10. Dorinda from Mentor, Oh. says:

They’re really awesome to watch, they are slow and graceful to me. And it is a good alternative to harness a nature resource such as the wind. But one thing I’ve heard bad about them is the birds get killed by the blades. Don’t know about that out west and how your bird migratory paths are but here we have tons of birds. Our communities around here have been looking into the turbines and we may see some popping up sooner than not.

Did the cows look at you Matt? Did they moo at you too?

  11. Barb V from Michigan says:

It looks like it could be some space-age desert forest in Star Trek. I imagine Captain Kirk’s next alien temptress to materialize at any moment.
