Matt where the heck are you? Are you levitating above the dam? A hover craft? How on earth are you up so much higher than the roadway and the water and dam.? Super Matt- he flies, he hovers, he climbs, he walks. He’s Super Matt !!!
Gosh, while you are walking, I am sleeping! You have covered so much ground in the past hours…..when I got up this morning and checked the blog I was shocked that you experienced so much while I was snoring…..
SO HAPPY you are now in Oregon. I do indeed, feel a bit “smug” that you finally arrived! Frankly, I am happy you crossed over the Bridge of the Gods….it just seems much more romantic than Bonneville Dam. But I agree, that the dam would have been pretty interesting.
I am off to meet a friend and must run, but want to come back and look more closely at all the pics.
I am just so happy….OREGON! Gosh, I just can’t imagine walking so far….it boggles this little old ladies mind! I am so proud of you. I only wish I could be there in Rockaway to meet you in person.
Karin – you have expressed many of my own thouhts – how far Matt has gotten while I’ve been sleeping and how happy I am for him AND how I wish I could be there in Rockaway to meet Matt in person! Plus – it boggles this little old lady’s mind as well!
And here is the chart for month-to-date fish counts through the fish ladder at Bonneville. (And thank you for attending the Bonneville Fish class 101!)
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
Too bad you could not have crossed the dam. The spillway probably have been a little refreshing.

It does look a little scary from this view… although interesting too… you sure are high.

Oops – thouhts = thoughts
I see it didn’t take you hardly any time at all to levitate to the top of those stairs for this shot.
The dam dam! Oh welll They should have forewarned you of the hazardous stairs too..Eh?
Looks like two sets of locks, interesting.
Here’s a cool video from the Corps of Engineers regarding the underwater fish camera, and the salmon run at Bonneville Dam.
