I’m loving the waterfalls. I lived in Oregon when I was a baby so obviously I dont remember them but it would have been nice to see them when I was old enough to remember. They are gorgeous!
Matt, I know that we have all said this many times before, but thank you so much for sharing all of this with everyone. I always wanted to travel out west but never have, (not yet anyway). This has meant more to me than you can ever imagine. You have touched many lives through this and sparked so many different feelings in all of us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. May God richly bless you in your future endeavors. I know now that something as simple as taking a walk can reach out and touch another human being.
Lisa…I probably missed one or more of your comments along the way…I know you were there but missed your comments recently…anyway, welcome back to the comment board…
Lisa…what you said was wonderful that’s why I quoted you…and you know Matt has “taken” over my scratching for some time now…this has bee a great time for me…to follow Matt but to “hear” form all of you out there in this vast “Matt Following”…it makes me think…and enjoy…
Thank you Lisa for saying what you just have said. I agree with you on everything Matt has shown us and what he has brought to everyones attention is that a person can do anything they put their minds to. Thank you Matt !!!!!
Thanks for your comments. You are so right about how Matt has touched so many people from all over this globe and he has shared his wonderful well planned trek with all of us. It is so nice to see so many people who are following Matt on this great adventure and the many kind hearted people who have opened up their hearts and homes to Matt is so amazing.
Peace and Love – Our World needs it more than ever.
Lisa, loved your thoughts. I have written something shorter in the past, but you expressed the essence so wonderfully. This has truly been a journey I will always cherish and probably won’t experience again. Even now as I see stories on the news about “Matt’s” states, I find I have more interest now — which is a good thing. Thanks for the memories, Matt. And full steam ahead…Fondly, Anna Harrison, Greenbrae, CA.
Make sure you get some clips of those windsurfer’s on the river Matt!! On a day like today, the wind should be fantastic for them to be surfing off of.
Now that is fantastic! I know if you did not have the Mattmobile you would have climbed to the top and looked over the edge! Pretty awesome, that view! Anyway, in my opinion, nothing compares to Multnomah Falls…from here on to Rockaway. So glad you saw it, Matt.
I am wondering if you just feel like running now…..you are so close…..I know when you get to the last mile….you probably will be running, jumping and skipping!
Awesome! You were lucky to get there in the morning. When we visited the place was teeming with tourist (us included!) But it made for not so great photos. The bridge was packed with people. There was no way to get a photo without people in it. I hope you got some great still shots!
Will you be posting more photos on flickr?
When my husband and I show pictures of Oregon to the Greeks they always ask WHY we ever left such a beautiful place. We lived in Ireland for several years, and as green and beautiful as that country is, they said the same thing. Oregon IS a beautiful state.
I spent many of my earlier years climbing/hiking around those falls. They still take my breath away. Thanks for reminding me of the beauty in our world.
This may be the “Standard Photograph” of the Falls…and maybe is the standard video…but there is NOTHING standard about this…Unusually Beautiful might be the better title…I’m sure there are other…that is just off the cuff…
Okay, I must take a trip to both Oregon and Washington. According to your photographs, both states appear to be breathtakingly beautiful. Wow, that waterfall is gorgeous!
You will NOT be disappointed if you come here for a visit. There is so much beauty to see and what’s most amazing is that Matt caught this video with no one else around. Typically, there are TONS of people all around…so getting it in all of it’s glory is quite a blessing.
Oh yea, forgot about the yeti sightings!! He is going through “dangerous territory”! ha, ha. Or maybe he will find the bag of money that fell out of that airplane years back? Or did it fall in Washington. Anybody remember reading about that?
I’ll be sorry to see your advernture end, I’m in Norway, but have been to those falls, and yes, the windsurfers on the Columbia are an incredible sight!
Oh my goodness! That was so beautiful! I’ve always been drawn to the NW and now your shared journey is making me want to move there. Thank you, Matt! :)
Simply stunning. And it just keeps flowing. I don’t think I would ever have seen this if not for you Matt. Thank you for the most exciting show-n-tell of my life. And the people here have made it even more special by sharing information and ideas. I feel sorry for the people who only follow your journey on Flickr.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
I love Multnomah falls. It’s really beautiful there. You are making great progress.
I can see it in Flickr but not here yet. What a pretty sight! I love the bridge up there by the middle of the falls.
Gorgeous! You’re almost there Matt!! =)
OMG…My artist sister did a painting of this exact waterfall! Fantastic, thank you.
Still fabulous; thanks for the memories. Happy trotting all the way to Rockaway; they are siked for your arrival dude!
One word…two alphabet letters….. W O W !
Oh my goodness. I would love to be on that bridge on a 100 degree day….now that is a mist park.

Fantabulous!

Thanks Jim, I pop in and out from time to time, but my heart is always here!
Jim, I had no idea that you had quoted me in your blog. Very humbled and honored that it touched you. Thanks, you just made my year!

I had that thought too. I have never seen it that early in the morning….must have been very special. Maybe all to himself!
OMG! Why have I never heard about the beauty of this part of the country? That is spectacular! I want to go there with my camera!

Nic photo of Multnomah Falls, Matt. Welcome to Oregon and we are looking forward to seeing you next week in Tillamook!
If he goes through Tillamook, then you had better meet him with an ice cream cone from the Tillamook Cheece Factory!
What a beautiful spot… the falls are awesome…. so inviting.. I’d be jumping in the pool below…
thanks for sharing this Matt!
Matt, When you go on your next adventure…I want to go too!

OH how beautiful Matt! Thanks so much for sharing!
Enough’s enough…I’m going to Oregon!

I was actually hoping Matt could go here! I’m so glad he had the chance to see all the falls!!! Next stop crown point???
Oh boy…the views from Crown Point are amazing, aren’t they? I’ve taken some sunset pictures from there and it’s just GORGEOUS!
so beautiful.
Pretty. I’d forgotten how many falls are aroung Mt. Rainier and all the ferns. Made me keep on the look out for yeti. Have you seen bigfoot yeti Matt?
Awesome thanks for sharing Matt….
Wow awesome. They keep getting used but they explain it best. Just in awe of it all.
This is so awesome. It might be better than what I saw on my 7 day whitewater rafting trip through the Grand Canyon in 1998.
I would love to get a back massage from the water falling into the bottom pool. It would be fantastic!
Oh yea, forgot about the yeti sightings!! He is going through “dangerous territory”! ha, ha. Or maybe he will find the bag of money that fell out of that airplane years back? Or did it fall in Washington. Anybody remember reading about that?

Oregon ROCKS!!! My mom lived there in her youth.
Oh my goodness! That was so beautiful! I’ve always been drawn to the NW and now your shared journey is making me want to move there. Thank you, Matt! :)
The video is so great…really breathtaking. Thanks, Matt, for sharing your experience with all of us!
Powerfully beautiful, just like God who created it!
