I am a Portlander, who grew up very close to Mt. Tabor. The brick structure is the pump-house for the reservoir. Further down Mt.Tabor there is a large retirement community that is where another reservoir used to be. The pump-house has been converted into an apartment.
hmm, look just to the left of the top of the structure. WHO/WHAT is that brown figure standing in the trees looking at us? looks like the left arm is up, across the chest, touching the right shoulder. could it be…………SASQUATCH?!
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
So what is this brick structure, here?
It looks like the gatehouse of Reservoir # 2 .. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Portland_City_Reservoir_No2_Gatehouse_-_Portland_Oregon.jpg
That’s a great picture in the link you posted Gigi… thanks… you’re so quick with those!
Thanks Roxanne, or should I say thanks to Wiki ;-) The things we get to know just by being armchair hobos..
Thank you for the link Gigi! :)

Very pretty – I’m loving the Gatehouse structure (architecture).
