Your just crazy man. Oh by the way my apologies go out to Karen of Beautiful Catskills, New York …….I forgot to mention her selection date of August 29th. My bad…….My apologies…….what a lovely picture.
Who else here sits at work and is obsessed with refreshing this page, just waiting in anticipation for the next little tidbit of Matt’s journey? I KNOW I can’t be the only one! How did I ever get through my work days before Matt’s walk?? I can’t seem to remember….
With you on that, Megan. I just read this quote and immediately thought of Matt: “Don’t ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” –Harold Whitman. Perhaps coming alive is contagious.
How did you know I was doing just that Megan? Checking for the nth time .. no new pics yet. Pretty soon time to go home, time for one last check. Check again once I’m home. Aah, the life of a hobo follower ;-)
Yes, I refreshed 100 times. There is a 10 hour time difference between Portland and Greece so while I am awake, I guess Matt is sleeping. Yet, I just hated to not catch the next pic or news! I just don’t want to let go!!!!! Matt has really opened our eyes to so many things. What a guy!
It states at the bottom under comments that Matt will be coming to Bill’s daughters wedding in 3 weeks and he is going to interview him then! Wow, I won’t even have to feel bad because I can’t make it to Rockaway. He’ll be coming back to My state to be on television!
For those of you who will be missing Matt’s journey across the country, there’s a man who is bicycling around the world – he left Canada on August 1st and is now arriving in the S.F. Bay Area. He hopes to travel 40,000 km, 6 continents and 30 countries. His web site is here: http://www.ridedonthide.com/
Emma, you have talent. This looks almost like some of the tye dye stuff from the 60’s. Very cool young lady and I hope you are able to continue to use your talents! Keep smiling young lady.
How cute! She’s very good too. She must be so proud to have made you that and have you there. Your so awesome and good with children too. Good art work Emma. Very good for someone so young.
So what do you think about seeing little Emma’s art work here? Probably unusual to imagine seeing it online but here it is huh? She’s got an eye for color like Matt has for photography.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
Pretty cool! I still color the designs on paper towels. One of life’s little pleasures :)
I will bid one – meelion dollars.
How creative, and pretty. Love how your name in is in the upper left corner, too.
I almost missed that…thanks for pointing it out Karen… so colorful !
Oh man. I thought my mascara was gonna hold today, but it’s history now. Just gonna take it all off! Thanks, Emma!

What a nice souvenir. Emma should have signed it ;-)
Neat! At first I thought she came up with the design herself, but I see it’s the quilting on the papertowe. No less interesting though!
Thank you Emma for giving Matt such a lovely piece of art work. Looks like a lot of work. You did a great job!
Looks as pretty as the quilt you got way back when!
So pretty and so creative. You did good Emma!

Nice quote, Belle Zora. Thanks for sharing.
Nice, Bella. More than the quote, I like what you added at the end. “Perhaps coming alive is contagious.” I think it is!
LIKE!

Can’t wait to see the interview!
That link goes to a story on the disappearance of the Roanoke colonists. Is there something about Matt somehwere?

Sorry about that kat, I should have mentioned the info in the comments section from Bill.

That’s a keeper!
wow, trippy…ooooo, the colors!
I know Emma and her parents, and she is always making art like this. Great kid!
Well now her art work is famous. She created a very pretty piece here. Thanks for sharing.

How creative! I never would’ve thought of paper towel art, and the colors are great. Way to go, Emma!
