Looks like the shrubrey took up the parking spots.

Go inside and ask for a TAVERN RC in a bottle and a bag of Tavern salted peanuts. Put the Tavern peanuts in the Tavern RC and you will have the snack of the last century. You might be able to get some Jack Daniels Whiskey here also. Made in TN.
When I was a kid several boys would get together and we would buy cokes (Coca-Cola) and look at the bottom of the bottle -6.5 oz bottles. They all had the city of the bottle manufacturing plant stamp on the glass bottom. Who ever had the closet town to Maryville had to buy everyone else their coke. They only cost 5 cents. We would then get a pack of Lance salted peanuts and put them in the coke. Then you drink and eat. SOOOOO GOOOOD!!!! We even had a COCA-COLA bottling plant in Maryville at one time. I remember when cokes increased in price from 5 cents to 6 cents. A big deal because the changer in the machies had to be changed to accomadate pennies. This was a 20% increase in price-what inflation!
Good memories. I remember when bottles and single serving portions were all smaller. Even plates were smaller. We’re like the frog that was placed in a pot of cold water and then set on the stove to heat. Even though the frog has a perch from which to jump out of the pot, it is boiled to death because the change of temperature is so slow that it adjusts and never realizes the danger. Our ‘normal’ portions now are killing us.
Dorinda – no comments from the peanut gallery please. Matt skipped ladies night because it would just set him back even further….he can smell the ocean….no bar will keep him from his goal…..unless….well maybe a happyhour drink or two…..are boiled peanuts good.
Hey ! I like making comments thank you very much. And I like being a life long member of the gallery too! he he. Ladies night slowing Matt down and putting him back further is fine by me. How about 2 weeks slower so I can get to say “Hooray” on my day that I picked??? No? Okay. Keep going Matt the ocean awaits.
Well, if this doesn’t take the cake….this tavern (in August) just had it’s semiannual checkup! Score? 100!!! You could have fooled me. Looks a bit seedy, but then I don’t like taverns. But at least if Matt did stop for an RC, he was in a clean joint!

I’m from Midland and I was wondering if you know my brother and sisterinlaw in Plainwell.

I’m try going through each day as often as I can but I doubt I will ever catch up to the rest of you before Matt reaches his destination.
I’m currently on July 29th.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
Peanut Farm – IN Oregon?

What an interesting analogy!
The Peanut Farm! You found it, is it anything like the peanut gallery here on hobo planet? Or the funny farm?

Boiled peanuts are awesome. I buy them on the side of the road here in SC and in GA. They are soft and salty.

I bet they have a peanut gallery too…

Ladie’s night better be pretty on and crackin’ here, because it doesn’t sound like a very promising place to pick up guys.
