This young feller was my walking companion yesterday as I crossed the 3000-mile mark on a short stretch of the Springwater Corridor Trail. In case you're wondering, that crab squeaks when you squeeze it.

Hey, I’m first! Cute kid..
He is so cute! Did you get to ask what his name is?
Woohoo Matt, congratulations on Mile 3000! Less than a 100 miles to go, keep on walking, we’re right behind you cheering you on!
congo line…..ole ole ole ole…..
cheers on the 3000 mark Matt…..
Congrats on the 3000 mile mark!
Wow! Congrats on the 3k mark!
Go Matt!! Grats on 3000!
Congratz !!!!!
Please write something that reflects what you are feeling – now that you are almost there
So close to the finish line.
I know alot of people want Matt’s journey to continue, but Matt himself may not be interested in more cross-country walkin’. Maybe if there were enough people and Matt agreed, Matt’s cart could get relayed back to him and the walkers could post pictures from their shorter journey’s ? I know Matt is unique in and of himself and it wouldn’t be the same without his photo commentary, but just a thought
Great idea! Let the journey go on.
Brittney, that’s a good thought…we need a coordinator!
Now that is the best suggestion I have seen on this post board…I cant coordinate but I can make it to the GW bridge with it without a problem….
3,000 miles…whew! Congratualtions, Matt! I just looked at the site about Springwater Corridor Trail. You are on an old rail line. There are Himalayan Blackberries en route. Lots of wildlife (birds, small animals, etc) So guess you have managed to leave Big Foot behind! This should be an easy walk. I am glad you had some company along the way.
I thought he’s be taller.
What an honor for you, Matt, to have a boy and his crab accompany you on that momentous occasion! We should all hope for such accolades in the fun stuff we do. Just awesome!
Congratulations on the 3K!! And what a nice companion to share the moment with. The crab is just the icing on the cake! LOL
Matt
Proud that you made it to the 3,000 mile mark. Even with days off this is an average of 20+ miles per day!!! It is unbelieveable what you have done-JOB WELL DONE-BUT MOVE ON TO THE REAL CRABS.
Hope you were not crabby to this young man. Did you make him an offical member of the HOBO PLANET? Hopefully this young man will have some kind of menento or memory of this accomplishment of walking with you for the 3,000 mile mark. Hope you were able to make of photo of the both of you so tyou can send it to him!
i am sure you made his day.
I hope the little fella and his crab are fully indoctrinated on the virtue of cross-country trekking when you all parted ways.
Congrats on the 3k mark. I am going to miss your postings. I am proud of you and that you did not give up. :)
How cute! He’s gotta be your cutest travelling companion yet. Way to go Matt.
3000 miles! Whoo-hoo! Congratulations! And such an adorable companion to take that walk with.
Wow, what an accomplishment – 3,000 miles walked – not driven or flown or biked or any other mode of locomotion other than with the two feet God gave you! It’s just amazing and awesome and inspiring all in one. Congratulations!!! I’m sure you and all your family are so excited that you’re so near the finish line. What a truly wonderful experience you’ve shared with all us honorary hobos!
Great job Matt, I am mighty impressed. I didn’t even put 3,000 miles on a motorcycle I had years ago. Many many congrats from the Midwest.
