We just finished dinner (it’s just after 6 here in Ohio) and logged online so my husband could see the progress that Matt’s made. I’m honored to be seeing these photos just as he’s arriving! Way to go, Matt!!
Stonehenge of sorts in the water? Just beautiful and you’ve got gorgeous weather to end out a perfect journey. You’ve got to be bittersweet about this? I know I am.
So here we are all eagerly anticipating Matt’s arrival. Not only am I oh so happy for Matt, I’m also feeling very fond of my fellow citizens of Hobo Nation. This whole enterprise has glowed with goodwill and generosity.
It was my pleasure today to take Matt’s parents and Barbara to meet him while he walked the last five miles. As I left to return to Rockaway Beach to wait for them, I rounded the corner here where the rocks are, and low and behold, there was a bald eagle just waiting to welcome Matt!! Good omen I think.
Definitely a good sign! Thank you so much for the welocme party! The pictures and video were great, and a good substiture for actually being there. Thank you Rockaway!
By the way, I just noticed, if you look real hard at the rock on the far right, the eagle is still there when Matt took this picture. He’s on a branch to the right.
This is called Three Graces. That is where I was driving when I saw Matt walking.. Had to turn around and notify fellow Fire Dept members that he was near.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
So close.

I’d love to see the sea stacks someday.

Are we there yet? Beautiful rocks and water!
Almost Candice, almost. Maybe even right now. We are all glued to our computers right now for sure!

Oh my gosh how cool is that! Thanks and you’ve got to be so excited there in Rockaway to be the “chosen finish” to an epic journey.
