Did you get turns in pushing the Mattmobile? What a sweet pic of the last mile crew. Thanks to the Green family for sharing Matt with us. Hugs to all of you!
Love this. Marine layer still showing in the air. Perfect. Congrats to you Matt. Enjoyed the anticipation of every “refresh” on my computer. Inspiring to say the least.

I have been so blessed to vicariously take this journey with you. It has been the highlight of my morning to check in with you. Thank you for sharing. I am glad you are safe.
That is a FANTASTIC picture!! Thank you so much to all of you (the final mile crew) for sharing Matt with us for a while. There have been a great many moments experienced not only on the trek Matt went on…but also here on this site. It’s definitely worth going back and seeing the community that has built up because one person decided to take a trip. It’s all very amazing and again I thank you!!
Hi Mom and Dad and family. I am Don from TN and I am the Mayor of this fine organization called the Matt Green Hobo Nation/Planet. I think I picked the closest dates to Matt’s arrival in Rockaway Beach, OR. I picked Augsaut 23 and 24.
Your son is of fine character and I am sure you are proud of who he is nd what he has accomplished-by now you know I like Youtube to express my feelings – seeing all of your united smiles made me think of this song-
It was great to meet your family and sit there on the corner watching you walk that final mile…. great to see and hear the cheers as you made it to the Pacific Ocean
Nephew, nephew, dad, mom, girlfriend, sister, nephew. Is that right? I think Matt would have given us a caption, but he was wasting no time in reaching the little red caboose. Oh, to have been there, bringing in the team….congratulations to you all!
SO Happy for you Matt. It was a pleasure watching your journey [and meeting you]. This is alittle bittersweet, though. You made it safe and sound and now you can put your feet up! But I’m going to miss looking at this country thru your eyes and it was beautiful! I’m kinda sad it’s over, but happy for you.
Oh, oh, oh!! Look how happy they are!! That is so sweet!!
But what is the plunger of death for? To prod Matt into the Pacific? There was that 17-day stretch without a shower… ;)
Cool to see you finally make it! Glad it was a safe trip! Enjoyed (and looked forward to) seeing something new from America’s landscape every evening. Wish you well in your future endeavors!
Congrats!!!! Thanks again for sharing your journey with us, I have so enjoyed checking in. Matt, you may have missed your calling based on the pictures you got with a cell phone. Thanks also to your family for sharing you with us. I’m going to miss reading the blog too. Maybe you should write a book and include all the photos. Good Luck to you and God Bless you and your family.
One of my favorite pictures of the whole trip. It is great to see the smiling faces as you approached the end of an awesome journey. The picture also portrays the strong support of family.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
Home stretch! Woo Hoo!!!
Sweet sight!
Yayyy!!!!!
