On the left, we have a yard packed full of lights and inflatable figures — the classic American more-is-better approach to Christmas décor. On the right, we see a sparse, streamlined, monochromatic yuletide geometry — a much more austere expression of holiday cheer.
Looks a lot like a shelf to me. So much so, I’m inclined to wonder whether if you had returned 24 days later you’d find it covered with 24 tacky Christmas knick-knacks, with the top slot proudly occupied by a battery powered singing Santa and/or Jesus.
