I wonder, did the field flood from the storm or is that a swampy area. Amazing what happens when a quick storm comes and goes quickly. Must have smelled nice too.

  2. Skyler from Bismarck, ND says:

It’s central ND, it’s probably fairly swampy anytime it sprinkles.

I think Matt got lucky and just dodged the worst of three storms that rolled over the Bismarck area in the past two days.

I’ll be keeping my eyes out for Matt coming through Bismarck this weekend.

    • Jeff says:

Thank you Syler from Bismarck. I think I butchered Bismarck a few pictures back.
You brought life to the question and the picture. I hope you do keep an eye out for him and meet him along the way and if you do tell him Jeff from Joisy says hi. I missed him on day 4 – he walked right down the same street I walk in the mornings…but the day he did – It was a hurricane type storm here…so I never made it out…I keep wondering what I would have done..but who realy knew about this before the AP article was picked up webwide.
Give our friend a great big hello! Peace and thanks so much again.

    • Don’t wait to long to look for him. He’s farther along sometimes than what these pictures show. They aren’t loaded right as he takes them. I’m sure he’ll be in Bismark tomorrow, Saturday. I would guess to say on County road 10 by the looks of things.

    • MN Roxanne says:

Thanks Skyler…. Matt needs friendly folks to help him out along the way… email him directly – he’ll let you know what road he’s coming through on…

As you cross North Dakota on I 94…you will notice many times, as they built it many years ago…they followed the lay of the land…now with the water table “up”…those same “dips” in the freeway would be under water if they had not raised the road…water on both sides…over the years that I have traveled there…first dikes stopped the water…they they raised it…even the railroad tracks, in spots, are going directly through the water…

These natural, glacial produced “potholes”…duck breeding bonanzas…that dot (where not claimed by agriculture) the landscape from Minnesota, the Dakotas and large areas of Canada…so enjoy that water…it has come back…and produces life…

  10. Candice in Alabama says:

OH gosh – before I read the comments – Oh my – beautiful!
