Now there’s a Scott I’d like to give a great big bear hug to!! We need more Scotts!! Way to go to do your part on your own to help keep the neighborhood you live in clean! Love it and love him! Thanks Scott for doing your part.
speaking of bears, north jersey has 5 times more bear sightings this weekend.. then matt has had on his entire trip across….many states.
less the frozen one in the window.
Very nice of him to do that everyday. This my first time posting. I have been following Matt ever since day one. Good Luck Matt keep on walking and thank you all for all the beautyful pics.
Back in the day, when Mom was able, she and a couple of pals would walk for exercise, and as they went along, they picked up the aluminum cans they found. Big Scott – you deserve a medal!
We need more people like Big Scott to keep our roads clean. Better yet – people should keep their litter to themselves and throw it away when they get to their destination. (ok, I’m off my soapbox now….) Thanks Scott!!
So Julie, are you going to be one of those people? All it takes is you to go out and do what Scott is doing. No one asked him, appointed him by the sounds of it, he just goes out and does it. He’s grateful and just does it to keep it clean because he wants to. We, all of us on here, can do our part. We are the people. Each day, pick up one thing extra off the ground, wipe up a mess, put something in the trash, recycle one extra thing found along the way. We are the ones who will make a difference just like Big Scott does each and everyday. Way to go Big Scott. !!
Yeah Big Scott!!! I agree, more of us being proactive like Scott, no one asking us to do it just us doing it out of gratitude. Not whining about that it’s not my filth to clean up or I didn’t make the mess so I’m not doing it. He truly does this from his heart. I love you Big Scott for your big heart and spirit of what is right and then just doing it.
So why are they laid out in the gravel driveway like that? And thanks for putting a name and story with the picture. You rock Big Scott! And you keep one mighty clean roadway there too!
I was more referring to the ones way up on the mountains in the background. They look like they swirl around that mountain up there. But thanks Big Scott. Sure do appreciate the local input.
I almost fell off the couch when I saw this picture. This man is a dead-ringer for my late ex-husband. They say we all have a double out there. Well, this man is his.
Usually we thank people for taking care of Our Matt. This time, we gotta thank you, Big Scott, for taking care of Our…I dunno, how about Our Idaho! You rock!
Ho, Big Scott…my twin…well, I don’t have the good looks nor any hair nor the mustache nor the youth…but other that that…twins…
Thanks for the good work out in that Idaho Land…and for welcoming Matt…and hey, I see you shop at Sam’s Club…we have the same garbage bags in our kitchen…love the pink pull string…and does that stick work on dogs???…Matt thinks so…wait that may not be a plunger handle…maybe a broomstick…oh, well…okay I’ll stop…ADD kicking in…sorry…
Welcome to the HOBO NATION and I know you were impressed with Matt Hobo Green- he is GREEN like you!
Thanks for what you do to help your state look better. As as been posted before-I do not understand people who can bring in things like food and drinks and then throw the empties out for someone else to clean up. If you can pack it in then pack it out!!!
By ther way we all need to BUTT OUT of BIG SCOTTS’ daily good deed and let him keep SMOKIN’ the roads and doing his best to keep the beauty of his state natural. Not sure if i was a bear that I would want to tangle with BIG SCOTT!
We all do need to do our part and i wish there was more reclycling in our nation!
This is so very cool! Big Scott, I send out kudos to you from the Hobo Planet….not only for being nice to our Chief Hobo…but also helping out this great planet of ours. You are good people! :)
Hooray for Scott! We definitely need more people like that. I sometimes go to the beach just to help clean up the shoreline and it’s very rewarding. One time, a school of dolphins swam by doing jumps and flips! It was as if nature was thanking me! I’m sure that Scott gets some pretty awesome rewards, too! :)
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
I guess you won’t ever find Mountain Dew cans on this stretch of the road!! Thanks Big Scott for keeping America beautiful!
Or Bud Clamato!
Don’t go there. We are out of Montana…..utoh…..feeling …..”blaaahh….throwing oreo’s right about now”
Thanks, Jeff!
Great Scott – It’s Big Scott!
Thanks Big Scott – for keeping your region of America beautifully clean!
Yeh! Matt made a friend today! Plus, it looks like he is back on easy-rolling pavement again.
I don’t know – He’ll have to travel unsafely on the paved road…for a smooth walk. The shoulder looks kind of gravely.

I wonder if that is Matt’s road out of town, way up there behind Big Scott?
I saw that too earlier and thought the same thing. Oh my if it is!
Nope thats the Road to town,Matt hit the 78 Mile Bike trail there in Wallace.
I was more referring to the ones way up on the mountains in the background. They look like they swirl around that mountain up there. But thanks Big Scott. Sure do appreciate the local input.
Big hug for Big Scott! I’m a fanatic litter-picker-upper, too… “Way to go, Dude!”
What a lovely soul! I’m so happy that we get to find out about such wonderful people doing things just because.
I almost fell off the couch when I saw this picture. This man is a dead-ringer for my late ex-husband. They say we all have a double out there. Well, this man is his.
