One large community mailbox perhaps? Looks like a nice farm or newer community there in the back ground. But what’s with the low to the ground mailboxes out there???
Low mailboxes – my guess is the mail carriers out that way aren’t using regulation issue USPS mail trucks but are more likely using their own vehicles . The lower mailbox height is more conducive to handing mail through the driver’s side window without having to unfasten the seat belt or open the door to reach the box. That’s my theory anyway – and I’m stickin to it! : )
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
Mailman: “Sorry sir, this package wouldn’t fit in your mailbox”
Customer: “Oh yeah, we will see about that…..”
Haha! Too funny! =)
What do you say? I say two weeks to Rockaway Beach, Oregon. Then What? :(
That is just Giant! :)
Love the mailbox photos. This one is so hudge that I believe it is painted bright yellow so hunters don’t mistake it for a deer, moose or elk. :)
What’s that thingy by the post?
Maybe the “cable” underground system…looks like that anyway…
Telephone pedestal! There is underground telephone cable in the area. I still haven’t figured out what the pedestals are for though.
I can see my son trying to hide in that thing.
I was thinking Matt could sleep in that at night!
lol…great idea! like the pod hotels in Japan ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capsule_hotel )
I guess it was built to handle the Sears Winter Mail Catalog?
or packages from Amazon.
Is this the little yellow House on the Prairie?
