My last campsite
August 23rd, 2010
I'm walking across America.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so. If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out. If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania. You can read all about the details of my trip if you're so inclined.

Ooh man…I actually teared up. So happy for Matt; so sad that it’s over.

That picture was taken on the 23rd and he said last campsite. So where is he tonight? Oh Matt, where are you tonight? Inquiring minds want to know.

Perhaps he’s found a nice family for tonight the 24th??
I’m pretty sure Kat has it right. One last lucky family gets the chance to chew the fat with Matt (hey that has nice ring to it!). Maybe they’re planning out the day for tomorrow (he’ll need a good night’s sleep for that.)
I hope he has met up w/ family and friends in Tillamook. Stop at the cheese shop tomorrow on 101. Congrats~

Eureka is a tent maker and a good one. They make camping supplies, tents for the military and party and event tents. Does the Hobo Planet treasurey have enough money to purchase a party tent? It is almost party time and we will need it to celebrate Matt’s feet or is it feat. The second one smells more like it. Also a different company that makes vacumm cleaners.
I believe this is a coverup! I have been meaning to ask you if by chance had met some friends of mine who have camped all over the United States. There last name is Coleman. There is Stove Coleman, Lantern Coleman and Cooler Coleman. I believe you would know them if you saw them. After all they are Green like you!

Matt, if this was your last night in your tent (last night) I hope you are somewhere in a nice cool motel/hotel room with a very comfortable bed so you can sleep like a king. You are the king of Hobo Planet you know and you deserve every bit of it.
He’s either in a comfortable bed, or maybe it’s just where he camped last night!

Glad and sad here. Matt you’ve got to be glad you’ve made your goal and have made some accomplishment there. We here on your blog, the hobo planet, will be sad to see this end, hopefully it doesn’t end to soon and the site stays up, and we are elated for you at the same time. Way to go Matt!
Ditto to all above. I have a new Hero! Superman move over! Matt Green has taken your space. I am really speechless. Everyone has said it – what could I add to it, but my name. I so admire you. I actually get a bit choked up…thinking about it all. Being so close to the end of your journey. And yet, I have a feeling it is only the start of your life. God has protected you with every step. Your friends and followers (bet you never knew there would be so MANY) have learned so much through you and your pictures. Love of Country, which needs love now more than ever. A big thanks to the people out there who gave you shelter and food. I, personally, am amazed at the friendships formed on this blog. Well, I could go on and on and on. This was your personal journey. Not an easy one. But, your almost there and then you can say shout to the world… I DID IT! And Matt, if you want to cry at the end, you just go ahead and cry! We all want to let out our emotions and cry with you. Tears of happiness! Oh, Oh, I am choking up now. Time to go…….

3000+ miles in about 5 months…..wow, that’s a big deal. Not sure it could have been done any better. Your walk ends, mine is about to begin. I’ve learned lots from watching your walk, and hopefully can put that to use over the next 7 or so months. California, here I come………

Where are you starting from, and where are you heading? Are you hopefully planning a blog like this one? Did you get inspiration about necessary equipment from Matt’s itemized list?
man you’ve some serious ground. i really never thought you would have come so far in such a sort period of time. congratulations on a walk well done. in the famous words of Bob Hope “Thanks for the memories. ” wish we could all meet you on the beach!!!!!!
