Postman Todd says: “HA! That Matt is an old church that folded years ago. It sat in limbo and was for sale for many years. Finally someone bought it and has been turning it into a house, again, over the past years. It’s been a slow process. Not pretty, but will make an interesting home!”
What a shame to cover up what looks like a neat old brick church. But, maybe the bricks had some sort of problem and needed to be covered up — I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. If it were me, I’d rather have it looking like the original even if I were turning it into a home.
PS just found your website and I’m catching up on your journey.
You know I lived just south of Butler for around 7 years (moved as of three years ago this fall) and I always wondered what they were doing to that old church. They started that 4 or 5 years ago and apparently never finished. Its nice to see that you figured out this was not the brightest town in IN by the comments you left under all those pictures. Don’t feel bad the rest of us agree as well, main reason I left.

If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
