Day 43

DANGER PESTICIDES

May 8th, 2010

That little tube says "PESTICIDE INFORMATION INSIDE". I thought maybe it was supposed to be public information, but I was unable to open the tube. Does anyone know what this is all about?

  1. Uncle Alan says:

First symptom of pesticide poisoning is inability to open plastic tubes.
Second symptom is hallucinations about hailstorms.

    • Dad of Ben & Ian says:

Ben, who was standing next to me when I read this comment, asked why I was laughing. I tried to explain the joke. He didn’t get it.

  2. George Broze says:

    Dude, that’s cold.

  3. Karen Honess says:

    LOL! You’re funny Uncle Alan!

  4. Larry says:

Might have to do with OSHA requirements to have MSDS sheets present? Just a guess though

  5. Deb says:

    Your journey is amazing!!
Getting back to the question, yup they’re MSDS Sheets. If there is any kind of problem, then the “proper” authority will open the tube and obtain the MSDS Sheets to further determine how to handle the incident. The sheets contain the chemical make up as well as medical treatment along with other pertinent information.
I worked in one of those cubicles you escaped from in NYC. I worked in Insurance claims and had to retrieve copies of these scary sheets on many “incidents.” Let’s just say those sheets are better off sealed inside tubs of steel only for Superman (or Superwoman in my case) to open at a far.
Back to the real fun!!! Keep on Walkin’ (should be what you title your book that I would love to write) and enjoy each step! What a wonderful journey!!! You give us all so much inspiration!!! Thank you so much for taking us with you on your incredible adventure!

  6. El Grego says:

When in Indiana … avoid conversations regarding pesticides.

  7. Julie from the Sunshine State says:

Wow. Really makes me want to eat whatever’s planted there. :(
