I came across your story in the local paper; i’m envious! As a kid, I read about a guy who walked acrss the US and wrote about it in National Geographic magazine. His story was inspiring as is yours and will give me something to think about as i sit in my cubical at work. Between you and Abby Sunderland (solo circumnavigation) I’ve got people who I can vicariously through! Best wishes and stay safe.
You are an inspiration. And it is great to have a little faith restored in humanity. Reading about all the people who have been nice and generous to you definitely restore that faith a good bit. I will enjoy checking in on your progress. I wish you the best of luck.
Hey – have u considered posting google ads up on your site? With all the traffic your site is getting, you could be making money while walkin’ around. Also, you could put up a paypal donation link for people to send you money – I’m in CA, but I’d love to be able to make a donation of some kind so you could get food or upgrade your supplies!
I know that Matt is not actively soliciting money for his trip, however, I was wondering if someone could set up a paypal account so I could make a donation of a couple of bucks. I am sure that if the front page of this site had a link that people would contribute. I understand that Matt is not begging or looking for help, however: I feel inclided to support him. I look forward to Matt passing through our area so I can meet him and possibly buy him a meal or something to make the trip just a bit more enjoyable. If that is possible!
I am so jealous of Matt actually doing what I have said I was going to do for too many years. Hats off to you Matt and please stay safe. Chris
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
Looks like something you would see down here in Florida.
best looking mail box so far to me
I would’ve called this one unusual at best.

Nah that’s a Palmetto tree-one of us South Carolinians up north-
A mailbox with character! I’m sure it’s even more of a sight in the winter when there’s snow!

Now I want me one of those.
I just love the mailbox pictures! You should definitely put a book together after your trip and use all the pictures you took/will take:)
Love the shadow it casts now, and the ideas of the ones it will cast throughout its days.
This one could be an argument for a showy welder. ;-)
And I thought it was Sideshow Bob.
You should come through phoenix we have lots of palm trees
