That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
Sounds like guns are an issue in Minniapolis. …. aBIG issue.
It’s not really that big of a deal. These signs started were made after the state passed the conceal and carry law during the Ventura era.
It left the decision up to individual businesses and buildings to post these signs up and they are in fact everywhere.
Anyway…love the blog! Hope you enjoyed your stay in Minneapolis!
Ah ha! Thanks for the context!
I saw a link to the AP article on Facebook and got curious about your travel. I’ve just finished reading all your entries and gosh, what an adventure! I hope you make a stop in Seattle! Some of my co-workers also got excited when they read it!
“How else are you supposed to kill time in church?”
That’s a good one. Thanks for the chuckle!
“As if you could kill time without injuring eternity.”

Greetings from a fellow traveler!
I appreciate your eye for the absurd.
Keep on keepin’ on.
I have been fallowing Matt for the whole route. I think it is an awesome adventure! He has inspired me to get out and do the same kind of thing. I’m in Phoenix and would love to do a WALK to the Grand Canyon. Anyone in Phoenix inspired to make a walk up to the Canyon???
Texas has pretty strict rules on ‘no guns’ signs. You can’t just hang a sign there that says ‘no guns’ it has comply with section 30.06 in the legal code.
“PURSUANT TO SECTION 30.06, PENAL CODE (TRESPASS BY HOLDER OF A LICENSE TO CARRY A CONCEALED HANDGUN) A PERSON LICENSED UNDER SUBCHAPTER H, CHAPTER 411, GOVERNMENT CODE (CONCEALED HANDGUN LAW), MAY NOT ENTER THIS PROPERTY WITH A CONCEALED HANDGUN.”
Anything less and you can just ignore it. I have no idea what the law is in land-o-lakes.
.. the right to arm bears!
howdy Patrick. I’m not sure what the law is in Minnesota either, but you know us yanks are a little different. from memory i believe MN has an open carry law as long as you have a permit. You can probably find the details without much searching. People will put up signs anywhere they can – regardless of open carry or not – because in bad areas of a city they want to discourage gunplay. Since you have checked out Matt’s site – and I don’t know how often – give him some propers on top of your legal ramblings.
