Day 90

Hay there!

June 24th, 2010

  1. Yes that is some hay there. That’s also some flat land and big sky. Wow. Beautiful.

  2. Jeff says:

And over here we have early man’s first attempts at the wheel.

Hay, is that a needle I see over there in the second one from the right.

  3. AMY from Houston, TX says:

This looks so peaceful! I love seeing all of the amazing shots you get!

  4. Karen Too says:

Hay, look me over! Hee hee.

    Splendid shot.

  5. Louie says:

Hey Matt, I have an idea (although you or someone else may have already thought of this): Since you’re walking across the Northern US in the Summer (where it’s coolest), why not walk down the West coast in the Fall, across the Southern States in the Winter (when it’s warmest) and then up the East Coast in the Spring? I’m a fan in California and I know you have another blog follower in Alabama!

    • Candice in Alabama says:

I’m one of Matt’s blog followers in Alabama. Sure Matt – come on through anytime (except Summer – the heat and humidity will kill you). Matt, I’m inspired by your walking and I just wish I could do the same kind of thing. I’ve always loved to walk. Just don’t have the “get up and go” that I used to have. When I feel too tired or lazy to walk my dogs just around the block – I think of Matt making those 25+ miles a day and the thought spurs me up and OUT. Wishing you many a pleasant mile!

  6. Jennifer in KY says:

Just wondering, does anyone else see the foot about to stomp on the hay bales?

  7. Michael in Atlanta says:

Stacks up really good against the sky. Hay, don’t judge me!

  8. Angelica says:

Hay there! You’ve been walking for 3 months, congratulations!

  9. Saun in Ohio says:

  10. colleen says:

oh wow, all that wonderful space…land, sky, and not a building in sight…..the expanse of this photo is so wonderful to see…..yes, peaceful…..your photos are just full of magic for all us watching each day…….we see things!! it’s such a gift…thanks Matt!!

  11. Greg Hocevar says:

Harry: Huh! I expected the Rocky Mountains to be a little rockier than this.
Lloyd: I was thinking the same thing. That John Denver’s full of shit, man.

  12. Candice in Alabama says:

Matt – Beautiful vista. I’ve seen a lot of round hay bales in my time but I’ve never seen such a view with JUST hay bales, a non-ending field and blue sky. I usually see trees around the edge of the field, or a barn or houses nearby. That’s a might big field.

  13. Candice in Alabama says:

    The sky is cloud-hay.

  14. Marcia in California says:

Ok Matt…I have been following your blog for about 3 weeks now. Went thru every page and now check in every day. Love your post’s and can’t wait to see what you encounter next. Love puffy clouds, reflections, odd mailboxes and scenery of everyday life out of nowhere. Especially love the fact that people will take you in and feed you, talk about their life and show you a good time until you move on. Look forward to more. Happy walking.

  15. katzien in austin says:

    It’s hayhenge!

  16. Fran in Georgia says:

  17. Jen says:
