Day 90
A crackling sound overhead

I'm walking across America.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so. If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out. If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania. You can read all about the details of my trip if you're so inclined.

Electricity is our FRIEND.
Not that anybody probably cares, but I think that’s a DC current transmission line. I believe that line goes to Minneapolis and helps run my A/C here in MN. Thanks ND!

I agree with you Jennifer, it might take awhile to walk the mountain passes. I put Oct. 6th but I’m thinking awhile longer.
I could keep a track if we had one place to put it. Day 90 will be the key. Just having a little fun. Although I was also doing some calculating on my own. Yea think about it….post a pool date somewhere…I’ll catch it…

I’ll say Labor Day because he’s gonna labor going over those mountains! Ha!
Hope you got your muscles built up by now for what lies ahead. And I hope you do make it through before or by Sept. 18th that Jeff is predicting because it starts snowing in the higher elevations by then.
Probably excellent timing for Matt. I remember being in Glacier National Park in July with some of the highest trails just opening after snow melting. It would be hard to get custom made chains for the stroller.
LOL !!! Yes, I’d say it would be. Could you just see Matt going into some outfitter place and asking if they had snow chains for a buggy wheel his size? Love it! Thanks for the smiles and laughs Kevin.

i say sept 24th.,.its taken 90 days this far so another 90 days if he can make it with the same amount of rest days, we are all pulling for ya
Chains? Make it “easy”…strap snowshoes on and put skiis on the cart! (easy, of course, being an extremely relative term here!)
I’ll say September 27 since that’s my birthday!
I say no pressure Matt…. you take as long as you need… rest often so you can make it to the end… we are all rootin’ for you…
I say November 1st will be the finish Date. I think the second half of the trip is going to be more of a challenge with all those Mountains and not much else. He’ll need to rest a lot more.
hay there fans! my guess is Oct 1. wouldn’t it be great if we all could meet Matt at the end and party with him. If we can’t, I say we party in our home state and send him pics of us.

That crackling sound is called “corona” (like the beer) which is the result of extra-high voltage (in this case DC, but AC also has them) transmission lines which have sharp edges (such as at the hardware or on very humid days).
Go engineers!
