Thats a Lower branch of Lake Coeur D’Alene Great Fishing

  2. Gentle Giant says:

Yes Scott and its really pretty. Your Lucky Scott for living so close.

  3. Saun in Ohio says:

Matt be glad your not in Ohio right now. Thunderstorm with tons of lightning you would have to take shelter somewhere. Be safe…..:)

  4. Don in Tennessee says:

Floating boat condominiums- No fixed rate loans on these babies – only floating rate loans (No bait and switch) from this underwater lender!

Beautiful again and I would imagine good fishing!

    • Candice in Alabama says:

      Are they actually floating?!?!?

      • jay MN says:

They are built off of the docks. They were pretty popular back in the days in Lake City MN marina. They are not there anymore..

        • Skyler from Bismarck, ND says:

I remember the ones near Bay Point Park in Red Wing, MN. Half the people that saw my pictures of them thought it was a flooded back alley and not a boat marina.

  5. MN Roxanne says:

We can only guess what’s behind door # 3…. and all the others…. :-)

  6. Dorinda from Mentor, Oh. says:

Floating boat garages?!? Now there’s something I don’t think I’ve seen. I have seen something similar up in the Finger Lakes area of NY but this looks like they’re hanging out in the middle of the lake on their own. This is a funny pic to me.

  7. Gigi says:

    Do they pay rent?

  8. Karen Too says:

Ah, and there’s that view we were just talking about in the last post.

I’ve seen these boat garages in a many areas of the country, especially down south. Also in parts of the Northeast, among others.

    • Stephen says:

Karen, that 2nd link you gave to the Rideau River images shows boathouses ultra close to where I live in Ottawa, Canada. In fact I was cycling along the Rideau Canal section of the waterway over the weekend on our miles of bikepaths here in the nation’s capital. Up here people have boathouses at their cottages not only to park their boats in. Many have hoists that can lift the boat out of the water for the winter before the major ice freeze-up happens. But, unlike Matt’s pic you seldom see a strip of them in a row. Wonder if they need someone to handle ‘valet parking’? (grins)

  9. Jeff says:

do garages substitute for ice houses for ice fishing? Cool shot. Never seen anything like it around here.

  10. Candice in Alabama says:

I see some “lily” pads with some beautiful pink/red flowers. Is that THE BRIDGE with the “house” in the background?

  11. Emily says:

Wow, this is awesome!! Matt, I can’t believe how far you are!!

  12. Marilyn (Iowa) says:

I thought they were fishing shannys from the winter?

  13. katzien in austin says:

I love the little ‘tooth pick trees’ that dot the hills in the background. Great persepctive!

  14. deb says:

That’s weird. Never seen boat garages in Indiana or Michigan. Must be a northern thing.

  15. kheavner says:

Reminds me of the floating community on Marina Drive, in Portland Oregon…. only there, they were houses with roped off swimming areas, decks, boat garages etc. Some pretty nice places. I would have hated to carry in the groceries though….
