I guess these are the songs I should have been humming

I'm walking across America.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so. If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out. If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania. You can read all about the details of my trip if you're so inclined.

Just like you can hear the ocean when holding a seashell to your ear, I think you might be able to hear the cruisin’ classics, if you put your ear near one of the cassette holes. :)

At least it’s not an “8 track” cartridge…or 33LP…or a 78…but probably Matt doesn’t have the player he needs…but I didn’t build the “Mattmobile”…who knows what secrets lie within that inscrutable design…(mystery music please…preferably IPod or whatever)…
I definitely remember these tapes. They were great on the long roadtrips I took as a kid during the late 80s.
ahh the SHELL record label..they have their hands in everything…
My family had that tape and all the other volumns when we were growing up, we used to listen to it all the time!
Bet it got jettisonned after one too many listens. There was probably a music selection showdown and the tape became the ultimate casualty. Out the window at 65 MPH is no way to end a long and storied career.
oh those beloved cassettes…. still have some…
They didn’t throw out Cruisin’ Classics Vol. I .. it must have a better song selection than this.
Wow what’s that thing? What? something that big only holds 14 songs…..geese my Ipod is the same size and it holds a thousand….dude.

Don! Where are you man? This is perfect for you! It’s right up your alley. Matt found hits on the roadside like you find them on the youtube. Hope you’re okay out there in TN. I’m worried now, no Don for this one? Somethings not right.
Wonder if this has anything to do with the other items found along the roadside along the way? Maybe this is all in reverse and the music drove the person to drink and by the time they got to MN they couldn’t take it any longer, was so drunk and started taking it out on the toys? And here we thought it was the opposite way around.

My mother had that tape when I was a kid… It’s probably kicking around in a box of tapes somewhere… Ah, random memories of family road trips…
OMG we had that tape, too! Purchased from a Shell gas station.
Yep, me too! Great tapes from Shell, lol…
And I think the cover had a picture of an old Firebird or something similar…spectacularly 80’s :)
