Wishram used to be called Fallbridge. Wishram was named in honor of the Wishram Indian Tribe. According to Wikipedia it was a “community” with only about 200 some people in 2000. As one can see from the picture, it is also a railroad hub. Bet there aren’t many more people today!
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
Love Love Love this view… the town, the bridge, the river… thanks for sharing this day Matt…
wow, just about due west exactly, now.
It’s pictures like this that make me want to come home to Washington for a visit. Keep on truckin’!
There is a nice little train museum in Wishram.
Again, beautiful – loving the bridge in the background as well!

Great shot, Matt.
Small town?
Nice job capturing the brige in it’s lifted postion.
Wow that town is TINY. Imagine living there…yikes.
There is a lovely view of Mt. Hood in the distance.
Oh my gosh. A tiny little town in such a remote place. Beauty everywhere, even Mt. Hood peaking around the gorge there.
Wow, what a little piece of quaint history. I often wish I lived in a small (or smaller) town. And I’ve always wanted waterfront property. ;-)
