Congratulations making it to your last state Matt. You should be excited to see the Pacific in a few days. Those of us in Hobo Nation are accepting this triumph with joy and sadness knowing your journey is winding down. Thank you for sharing your travels with those of us “office hobos”. Be safe and stay healthy.
AHH-Yes, thios company was located in Brooklyn, NY until 1969 when it moved (flushed) to Charlottesville,VA. This means this value has been flushing for at least 42 years. That means the company does not make crappy parts.
Well done Matt! Congratulations on reaching Oregon, so happy and excited for you. Thank you for taking us along with you on your trip. Keeping you always in my prayers, happy walking!
So happy you are finally in OR. The last time I stayed there was in Canon Beach (few miles north of Rockaway Beach) I stayed in a condo and saw for the first time the sea gulls hanging in the air. Decided to throw a few bread crumbs off the lanai and that was the biggest mistake of the whole trip…
Congrats Matt! So happy for you that you have crossed over into your last state! What a journey…thanks so much for sharing all your wonderful adventures with pictures…can’t wait to see what you capture in my home state. Happy Trails to You…Until We Meet Again (-;
Ta Da! We are all flushed with envy! Happy last state. All downhill to the beach from here. The bridge of the Gods…….glad you did it. Bet the gods are all pleased. Peace and thank you very much for setting this up (with Jason) so someone might tag along. We have been tagging along….and soon we will all find a new hobby…but step forward (after your break) and we shall all walk (vicariously together) together if you don’t mind….on thing though…can you supply the pictures for the vicarious thing…..? Thanks. thanks again.
You’re out of the woods, you’re out of the dark, you’re out of the night,
Step into the sun, step into the light.
Keep straight ahead for the most glorious place on the face of the earth or sky…….oops, guess the Emerald City is really in Washington, but we will settle for something in Oregon! Congrats Matt on your victory! We are all proud of you and envious of the beauty that still lies ahead.
You get all the way to Oregon and THIS is the first picture you give us of it?!? Part of me is like “how dare you!” part of me feels ripped off, and then the bigger part of me just have to laugh. Just seem like the typical man, always a potty joke in there somewhere.
Matt, your timing is perfect……..in a few weeks the rain will start in the western half of Oregon and last till late next spring. I lived in Oregon for 4 years and never grew to like the NON-STOP RAIN. But the trees do grow BIG out there.
Thanks for sharing your great journey

Reminds me of the whole rarely-discussed but very important bodily function details for walkers. I saw young girls on the Pacific Crest Trail walking in long skirts which I thought was brilliant. Makes you realize why women in so many cultures have worn skirts over the ages.
That's the idea, at least. I'm walking westward from New York City for nine months or so.
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be in Oregon when the clock runs out.
If nothing goes according to plan, maybe I'll end up in Peru or Mongolia or Pennsylvania.
You can read all about the details of my trip
if you're so inclined.
Look at that!
You had to go all the way to Oregon to see something from Brooklyn!
First again!
The only state I haven’t been to. Can’t wait to see the pictures, just hope there aren’t any more of urinals.
You have to appreciate Matt’s humor in all this…. he always delivers the unexpected and makes us laugh!

BTW-bet you’re “relieved” to be in Oregon!
Ha ha.
Well, Matt…at least no trip into the bushes…little things mean a lot…
Oh my – I am so excited for you Matt! You are in the last state of your trek. Still am amazed and impressed by your feat. Kudos to Matt!
Yes, I think we’re all amazed by Matt’s “feet” :)
LOL !
Welcome to Oregon!!! So glad your in the last state of your trip…you saved the best state for last :)

Don, you crack me up!
hehe ..yer a trip bro…
I wonder if Matt heard those F-15’s fly overhead and the sonic booms were what necessitated this bathroom visit…
Welcome to Oregon.
The views will only get better.

When feeding sea-gulls like that, don’t look up. Sea-gull poop burns the eyes really bad. I have made mistakes in my life too, Ruthie. *sigh*

Ahh. vicarious!!!!!!
Yeah, I don’t count a state as “visited” until I make a deposit.

Maybe a live streaming video as Matt enters the Pacific? Now THAT would a great way to cap off the trip (at least for us “vicariosites”

@Dorinda: quit pushin’ matt’s button! HA!
Yeah !!!!!!!
a man’s gotta go where a man’s gotta go Dorinda… we’re all basically in third grade no matter how old we get.
LOL . True, so true.
I joined this journey late but it has been so inspiring. I’m so excited for you Matt!
Peace from Michelle in Providence
Made in Brooklyn. Priceless. Congratulations, Matt, on entering the final state!
Congrats!!!!! Long trip almost (sadly) over….will miss the pictures.

Congrats again for entering Oregon. Some miles back I thought you had already crossed and whoo-hooed you then. Be safe…
Too, too funny, Matt. Congrats on walkin’ into Oregon.
Enjoyed all the other word play on here, as well.

Seems like a ‘sign.’ No matter how far away you go, you take ‘home’ with you. I’ll relish every post till the bitter(sweet) end. ;-)
I am reading this blog exactly one year later! NY is the best!!!
